1 Entonces respondió Bildad suhita, y dijo:

1 Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,

2 Dominio y pavor pertenecen al que establece la paz en sus alturas.

2 "Dominion and awe belong to Him Who establishes peace in His heights.

3 ¿Tienen número sus ejércitos? ¿Y sobre quién no se levanta su luz?

3 "Is there any number to His troops? And upon whom does His light not rise?

4 ¿Cómo puede un hombre, pues, ser justo con Dios? ¿O cómo puede ser limpio el que nace de mujer?

4 "How then can a man be just with God? Or how can he be clean who is born of woman?

5 Si aun la luna no tiene brillo y las estrellas no son puras a sus ojos,

5 "If even the moon has no brightness And the stars are not pure in His sight,

6 ¡cuánto menos el hombre, esa larva, y el hijo del hombre, ese gusano!

6 How much less man, that maggot, And the son of man, that worm!"
