JUB 1 And it came to pass after the plague that the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saying, NIV 1 After the plague the LORD said to Moses and Eleazar son of Aaron, the priest, JUB 2 Take the sum of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by the houses of their fathers, all that are able to go to war in Israel. NIV 2 “Take a census of the whole Israelite community by families—all those twenty years old or more who are able to serve in the army of Israel.” JUB 3 And Moses and Eleazar, the priest, spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho, saying, NIV 3 So on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho, Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them and said, JUB 4 Count the people from twenty years old and upward as the LORD commanded Moses and the sons of Israel, who went forth out of the land of Egypt. NIV 4 “Take a census of the men twenty years old or more, as the LORD commanded Moses.” These were the Israelites who came out of Egypt: JUB 5 Reuben, firstborn of Israel; the sons of Reuben: Enoch, <em>of whom</em> was the family of the Enochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites; NIV 5 The descendants of Reuben, the firstborn son of Israel, were: through Hanok, the Hanokite clan; through Pallu, the Palluite clan; JUB 6 of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites. NIV 6 through Hezron, the Hezronite clan; through Karmi, the Karmite clan. JUB 7 These <em>are</em> the families of the Reubenites; and those numbered were forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty. NIV 7 These were the clans of Reuben; those numbered were 43,730. JUB 8 And the sons of Pallu: Eliab. NIV 8 The son of Pallu was Eliab, JUB 9 And the sons of Eliab: Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. This is <em>that</em> Dathan and Abiram, <em>who were</em> famous in the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD. NIV 9 and the sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan and Abiram. The same Dathan and Abiram were the community officials who rebelled against Moses and Aaron and were among Korah’s followers when they rebelled against the LORD. JUB 10 And the earth opened her mouth and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, when the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men and they became an example. NIV 10 The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them along with Korah, whose followers died when the fire devoured the 250 men. And they served as a warning sign. JUB 11 Notwithstanding the sons of Korah did not die. NIV 11 The line of Korah, however, did not die out. JUB 12 The sons of Simeon by their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites; NIV 12 The descendants of Simeon by their clans were: through Nemuel, the Nemuelite clan; through Jamin, the Jaminite clan; through Jakin, the Jakinite clan; JUB 13 of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites; of Saul, the family of the Shaulites. NIV 13 through Zerah, the Zerahite clan; through Shaul, the Shaulite clan. JUB 14 These <em>are</em> the families of the Simeonites, twenty-two thousand two hundred. NIV 14 These were the clans of Simeon; those numbered were 22,200. JUB 15 The sons of Gad by their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; of Haggi, the family of the Haggites; of Shuni, the family of the Shunites; NIV 15 The descendants of Gad by their clans were: through Zephon, the Zephonite clan; through Haggi, the Haggite clan; through Shuni, the Shunite clan; JUB 16 of Ozni, the family of the Oznites; of Eri, the family of the Erites; NIV 16 through Ozni, the Oznite clan; through Eri, the Erite clan; JUB 17 of Arod, the family of the Arodites; of Areli, the family of the Arelites. NIV 17 through Arodi, the Arodite clan; through Areli, the Arelite clan. JUB 18 These <em>are</em> the families of the sons of Gad according to those numbered, forty thousand five hundred. NIV 18 These were the clans of Gad; those numbered were 40,500. JUB 19 The sons of Judah: Er and Onan; and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. NIV 19 Er and Onan were sons of Judah, but they died in Canaan. JUB 20 And the sons of Judah by their families: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Pharez, the family of the Pharzites; of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites. NIV 20 The descendants of Judah by their clans were: through Shelah, the Shelanite clan; through Perez, the Perezite clan; through Zerah, the Zerahite clan. JUB 21 And the sons of Pharez: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites. NIV 21 The descendants of Perez were: through Hezron, the Hezronite clan; through Hamul, the Hamulite clan. JUB 22 These <em>are</em> the families of Judah according to those numbered, seventy-six thousand five hundred. NIV 22 These were the clans of Judah; those numbered were 76,500. JUB 23 The sons of Issachar by their families: <em>of</em> Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Pua, the family of the Punites; NIV 23 The descendants of Issachar by their clans were: through Tola, the Tolaite clan; through Puah, the Puite clan; JUB 24 of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites. NIV 24 through Jashub, the Jashubite clan; through Shimron, the Shimronite clan. JUB 25 These <em>are</em> the families of Issachar according to those numbered, sixty-four thousand three hundred. NIV 25 These were the clans of Issachar; those numbered were 64,300. JUB 26 The sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Sardites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites. NIV 26 The descendants of Zebulun by their clans were: through Sered, the Seredite clan; through Elon, the Elonite clan; through Jahleel, the Jahleelite clan. JUB 27 These <em>are</em> the families of the Zebulunites according to those numbered, sixty thousand five hundred. NIV 27 These were the clans of Zebulun; those numbered were 60,500. JUB 28 The sons of Joseph by their families: Manasseh and Ephraim. NIV 28 The descendants of Joseph by their clans through Manasseh and Ephraim were: JUB 29 The sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites; and Machir begat Gilead; of Gilead <em>comes</em> the family of the Gileadites. NIV 29 The descendants of Manasseh: through Makir, the Makirite clan (Makir was the father of Gilead); through Gilead, the Gileadite clan. JUB 30 These <em>are</em> the sons of Gilead: <em>of</em> Jeezer, the family of the Jeezerites; of Helek, the family of the Helekites; NIV 30 These were the descendants of Gilead: through Iezer, the Iezerite clan; through Helek, the Helekite clan; JUB 31 of Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; of Shechem, the family of the Shechemites; NIV 31 through Asriel, the Asrielite clan; through Shechem, the Shechemite clan; JUB 32 of Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; and <em>of</em> Hepher, the family of the Hepherites. NIV 32 through Shemida, the Shemidaite clan; through Hepher, the Hepherite clan. JUB 33 And Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, had no sons, but daughters; and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad <em>were</em> Mahlah and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. NIV 33 (Zelophehad son of Hepher had no sons; he had only daughters, whose names were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milkah and Tirzah.) JUB 34 These <em>are</em> the families of Manasseh, and those numbered of them, fifty-two thousand seven hundred. NIV 34 These were the clans of Manasseh; those numbered were 52,700. JUB 35 These <em>are</em> the sons of Ephraim by their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthalhites; of Becher, the family of the Bachrites; of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites. NIV 35 These were the descendants of Ephraim by their clans: through Shuthelah, the Shuthelahite clan; through Beker, the Bekerite clan; through Tahan, the Tahanite clan. JUB 36 And these <em>are</em> the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites. NIV 36 These were the descendants of Shuthelah: through Eran, the Eranite clan. JUB 37 These <em>are</em> the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those numbered, thirty-two thousand five hundred. These <em>are</em> the sons of Joseph by their families. NIV 37 These were the clans of Ephraim; those numbered were 32,500. These were the descendants of Joseph by their clans. JUB 38 The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites; of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites; NIV 38 The descendants of Benjamin by their clans were: through Bela, the Belaite clan; through Ashbel, the Ashbelite clan; through Ahiram, the Ahiramite clan; JUB 39 of Shupham, the family of the Shuphamites; of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites. NIV 39 through Shupham, the Shuphamite clan; through Hupham, the Huphamite clan. JUB 40 And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman: <em>of Ard</em>, the family of the Ardites; <em>and</em> of Naaman, the family of the Naamites. NIV 40 The descendants of Bela through Ard and Naaman were: through Ard, the Ardite clan; through Naaman, the Naamite clan. JUB 41 These <em>are</em> the sons of Benjamin by their families: and those numbered <em>were</em> forty-five thousand six hundred. NIV 41 These were the clans of Benjamin; those numbered were 45,600. JUB 42 These <em>are</em> the sons of Dan by their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These <em>are</em> the families of Dan by their families. NIV 42 These were the descendants of Dan by their clans: through Shuham, the Shuhamite clan. These were the clans of Dan: JUB 43 All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those numbered, <em>were</em> sixty-four thousand four hundred. NIV 43 All of them were Shuhamite clans; and those numbered were 64,400. JUB 44 The sons of Asher after their families: of Jimna, the family of the Jimnites; of Jesui, the family of the Jesuites; of Beriah, the family of the Beriites. NIV 44 The descendants of Asher by their clans were: through Imnah, the Imnite clan; through Ishvi, the Ishvite clan; through Beriah, the Beriite clan; JUB 45 Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites; of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites. NIV 45 and through the descendants of Beriah: through Heber, the Heberite clan; through Malkiel, the Malkielite clan. JUB 46 And the name of the daughter of Asher <em>was</em> Sarah. NIV 46 (Asher had a daughter named Serah.) JUB 47 These <em>are</em> the families of the sons of Asher according to those numbered; fifty-three thousand four hundred. NIV 47 These were the clans of Asher; those numbered were 53,400. JUB 48 <em>Of</em> the sons of Naphtali by their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites; NIV 48 The descendants of Naphtali by their clans were: through Jahzeel, the Jahzeelite clan; through Guni, the Gunite clan; JUB 49 of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites. NIV 49 through Jezer, the Jezerite clan; through Shillem, the Shillemite clan. JUB 50 These <em>are</em> the families of Naphtali by their families; and those numbered <em>were</em> forty-five thousand four hundred. NIV 50 These were the clans of Naphtali; those numbered were 45,400. JUB 51 These are the numbered of the sons of Israel, six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirty. NIV 51 The total number of the men of Israel was 601,730. JUB 52 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, NIV 52 The LORD said to Moses, JUB 53 Unto these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names. NIV 53 “The land is to be allotted to them as an inheritance based on the number of names. JUB 54 To <em>those that are</em> many thou shalt give more inheritance, and to <em>those that are</em> few thou shalt give less inheritance; to each one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him. NIV 54 To a larger group give a larger inheritance, and to a smaller group a smaller one; each is to receive its inheritance according to the number of those listed. JUB 55 Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot; according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit. NIV 55 Be sure that the land is distributed by lot. What each group inherits will be according to the names for its ancestral tribe. JUB 56 According to the lot shall the inheritance be divided between <em>those that are</em> many and <em>those that are few</em>. NIV 56 Each inheritance is to be distributed by lot among the larger and smaller groups.” JUB 57 And these <em>are</em> those that were numbered of the Levites by their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites. NIV 57 These were the Levites who were counted by their clans: through Gershon, the Gershonite clan; through Kohath, the Kohathite clan; through Merari, the Merarite clan. JUB 58 These <em>are</em> the families of the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korathites. And Kohath begat Amram. NIV 58 These also were Levite clans: the Libnite clan, the Hebronite clan, the Mahlite clan, the Mushite clan, the Korahite clan. (Kohath was the forefather of Amram; JUB 59 And the name of Amram’s wife <em>was</em> Jochebed, daughter of Levi, whom <em>her mother</em> bore to Levi in Egypt: and she bore unto Amram Aaron and Moses and Miriam, their sister. NIV 59 the name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, a descendant of Levi, who was born to the Levites in Egypt. To Amram she bore Aaron, Moses and their sister Miriam. JUB 60 And unto Aaron was born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. NIV 60 Aaron was the father of Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. JUB 61 And Nadab and Abihu died when they offered strange fire before the LORD. NIV 61 But Nadab and Abihu died when they made an offering before the LORD with unauthorized fire.) JUB 62 And those that were numbered of them were twenty-three thousand, all males from a month old and upward; for they were not numbered among the sons of Israel because no inheritance was to be given them among the sons of Israel. NIV 62 All the male Levites a month old or more numbered 23,000. They were not counted along with the other Israelites because they received no inheritance among them. JUB 63 These <em>are</em> those that were numbered by Moses and Eleazar, the priest, who numbered the sons of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho. NIV 63 These are the ones counted by Moses and Eleazar the priest when they counted the Israelites on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho. JUB 64 And among these there was not a man of those whom Moses and Aaron the priest <em>had</em> numbered when they numbered the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai. NIV 64 Not one of them was among those counted by Moses and Aaron the priest when they counted the Israelites in the Desert of Sinai. JUB 65 For the LORD had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, except Caleb, the son of Jephunneh and Joshua, the son of Nun. NIV 65 For the LORD had told those Israelites they would surely die in the wilderness, and not one of them was left except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
