The Message Bible MSG
1 The LORD spoke to Moses:
1
God spoke to Moses:
2 Command the Israelites and say to them: Make sure to offer to me my offering, my food, my food gift as a soothing smell to me at its appointed time.
2
"Command the People of Israel. Tell them, You're in charge of presenting my food, my Fire-Gifts of pleasing fragrance, at the set times.
3 You will say to them: This is the food gift that you must present to the LORD: two flawless one-year-old lambs as the regular entirely burned offering every day.
3
Tell them, This is the Fire-Gift that you are to present to God: two healthy yearling lambs each day as a regular Whole-Burnt-Offering.
4 One lamb you will offer in the morning and the second at twilight,
4
Sacrifice one lamb in the morning, the other in the evening,
5 with a tenth of an ephah of fine flour for a grain offering mixed with a fourth of a hin of beaten oil.
5
together with two quarts of fine flour mixed with a quart of olive oil for a Grain-Offering.
6 It is the regular entirely burned offering begun at Mount Sinai, a food gift that is a soothing smell to the LORD.
6
This is the standard Whole-Burnt-Offering instituted at Mount Sinai as a pleasing fragrance, a Fire-Gift to God.
7 Their drink offering will be a fourth of a hin for each lamb. In the sanctuary a drink offering of brandy will be poured out for the LORD.
7
The Drink-Offering that goes with it is a quart of strong beer with each lamb. Pour out the Drink-Offering before God in the Sanctuary.
8 The second lamb you will offer at twilight like the grain offering and the drink offering in the morning. You will offer a food gift that is a soothing smell to the LORD.
8
Sacrifice the second lamb in the evening with the Grain-Offering and Drink-Offering the same as in the morning - a Fire-Gift of pleasing fragrance for God.
9 On the Sabbath day: two flawless one-year-old male lambs and two-tenths of fine flour for a grain offering, mixed with oil, and its drink offering.
9
"On the Sabbath, sacrifice two healthy yearling lambs, together with the Drink-Offering and the Grain-Offering of four quarts of fine flour mixed with oil.
10 This is the entirely burned offering for every Sabbath, in addition to the regular entirely burned offering and its drink offering.
10
This is the regular Sabbath Whole-Burnt-Offering, in addition to the regular Whole-Burnt-Offering and its Drink-Offering.
