1 locutus est Dominus ad Mosen

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2 praecipe filiis Israhel et dices ad eos cum ingressi fueritis terram Chanaan et in possessionem vobis sorte ceciderit his finibus terminabitur

Command the children of Israel, and say to them, When ye come into the land of Canaan; (this [is] the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, [even] the land of Canaan with its borders.)
3 pars meridiana incipiet a solitudine Sin quae est iuxta Edom et habebit terminos contra orientem mare Salsissimum

Then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the border of Edom, and your south border shall be the outmost coast of the salt sea eastward:
4 qui circumibunt australem plagam per ascensum Scorpionis ita ut transeant Senna et perveniant in meridiem usque ad Cadesbarne unde egredientur confinia ad villam nomine Addar et tendent usque Asemona

And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: its limit shall be from the south to Kadesh-barnea, and shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass on to Azmon:
5 ibitque per gyrum terminus ab Asemona usque ad torrentem Aegypti et maris Magni litore finietur

And the border shall form a circuit from Azmon to the river of Egypt, and the limits of it shall be at the sea.
6 plaga autem occidentalis a mari Magno incipiet et ipso fine cludetur

And [as for] the western border, ye shall even have the great sea for a border: this shall be your west border.
7 porro ad septentrionalem plagam a mari Magno termini incipient pervenientes usque ad montem Altissimum

And this shall be your north border: from the great sea ye shall designate for you mount Hor:
8 a quo venies in Emath usque ad terminos Sedada

From mount Hor ye shall designate [your border] to the entrance of Hamath; and the limits of the border shall be at Zedad:
9 ibuntque confinia usque Zephrona et villam Henan hii erunt termini in parte aquilonis

And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the limits of it shall be at Hazar-enan: this shall be your north border.
10 inde metabuntur fines contra orientalem plagam de villa Henan usque Sephama

And ye shall designate your east border from Hazar-enan to Shepham:
11 et de Sephama descendent termini in Rebla contra fontem inde pervenient contra orientem ad mare Chenereth

And the limit shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall reach to the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward:
12 et tendent usque Iordanem et ad ultimum Salsissimo cludentur mari hanc habebitis terram per fines suos in circuitu

And the border shall go down to Jordan, and the limits of it shall be at the salt sea: This shall be your land with its limits on all sides.
13 praecepitque Moses filiis Israhel dicens haec erit terra quam possidebitis sorte et quam iussit dari Dominus novem tribubus et dimidiae tribui

And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This [is] the land which ye shall inherit by lot, which the LORD commanded to give to the nine tribes, and to the half tribe:
14 tribus enim filiorum Ruben per familias suas et tribus filiorum Gad iuxta cognationum numerum media quoque tribus Manasse

For the tribe of the children of Reuben, according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received [their inheritance]; and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance:
15 id est duae semis tribus acceperunt partem suam trans Iordanem contra Hiericho ad orientalem plagam

The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side of Jordan [near] Jericho eastward, towards the sun-rising.
16 et ait Dominus ad Mosen

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
17 haec sunt nomina virorum qui terram vobis divident Eleazar sacerdos et Iosue filius Nun
17
These [are] the names of the men who shall divide the land to you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.
18 et singuli principes de tribubus singulis

And ye shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land by inheritance.
19 quorum ista sunt vocabula de tribu Iuda Chaleb filius Iepphonne

And the names of the men [are] these: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
20 de tribu Symeon Samuhel filius Ammiud

And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud.
21 de tribu Beniamin Helidad filius Chaselon

Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli.
