Numbers 6

JUB 1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, NIV 1 The LORD said to Moses, JUB 2 Speak unto the sons of Israel and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to dedicate themselves unto the LORD, NIV 2 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘If a man or woman wants to make a special vow, a vow of dedication to the LORD as a Nazirite, JUB 3 they shall separate themselves from wine and strong drink and shall drink no vinegar of wine or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall they drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes or dried. NIV 3 they must abstain from wine and other fermented drink and must not drink vinegar made from wine or other fermented drink. They must not drink grape juice or eat grapes or raisins. JUB 4 All the days of their Nazariteship they shall eat nothing that is made of the wine vine, from the kernels even to the husk. NIV 4 As long as they remain under their Nazirite vow, they must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine, not even the seeds or skins. JUB 5 All the days of the vow of their Nazariteship no razor shall come upon their head, until the days are fulfilled of their separation unto the LORD; they shall be holy and shall let the locks of the hair of their head grow. NIV 5 “ ‘During the entire period of their Nazirite vow, no razor may be used on their head. They must be holy until the period of their dedication to the LORD is over; they must let their hair grow long. JUB 6 All the days that they separate themselves unto the LORD they shall come in unto no dead body. NIV 6 “ ‘Throughout the period of their dedication to the LORD, the Nazirite must not go near a dead body. JUB 7 They shall not make themselves unclean for their father or for their mother, for their brother or for their sister, when they die because the consecration of their God is upon their head. NIV 7 Even if their own father or mother or brother or sister dies, they must not make themselves ceremonially unclean on account of them, because the symbol of their dedication to God is on their head. JUB 8 All the days of their Nazariteship they are holy unto the LORD. NIV 8 Throughout the period of their dedication, they are consecrated to the LORD. JUB 9 And if anyone dies very suddenly beside them, and they have defiled the head of their Nazariteship, then they shall shave their head in the day of their cleansing; on the seventh day shall they shave it. NIV 9 “ ‘If someone dies suddenly in the Nazirite’s presence, thus defiling the hair that symbolizes their dedication, they must shave their head on the seventh day—the day of their cleansing. JUB 10 And on the eighth day they shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest to the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, NIV 10 Then on the eighth day they must bring two doves or two young pigeons to the priest at the entrance to the tent of meeting. JUB 11 and the priest shall offer the one as the sin and the other as a burnt offering and reconcile the one that sinned upon the dead and shall sanctify their head that same day. NIV 11 The priest is to offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to make atonement for the Nazirite because they sinned by being in the presence of the dead body. That same day they are to consecrate their head again. JUB 12 And they shall consecrate unto the LORD the days of their Nazariteship and shall bring a lamb of the first year for their guilt; but the days that were before shall be lost because their Nazariteship was defiled. NIV 12 They must rededicate themselves to the LORD for the same period of dedication and must bring a year-old male lamb as a guilt offering. The previous days do not count, because they became defiled during their period of dedication. JUB 13 This is, therefore, the law of the Nazarite, in the day in which their Nazariteship is fulfilled: they shall be brought unto the door of the tabernacle of the testimony; NIV 13 “ ‘Now this is the law of the Nazirite when the period of their dedication is over. They are to be brought to the entrance to the tent of meeting. JUB 14 and they shall offer their offering unto the LORD, one he lamb of the first year without blemish for a burnt offering and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish as the sin and one ram without blemish for peace offerings, NIV 14 There they are to present their offerings to the LORD: a year-old male lamb without defect for a burnt offering, a year-old ewe lamb without defect for a sin offering, a ram without defect for a fellowship offering, JUB 15 and a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mingled with oil and wafers of unleavened bread anointed with oil and their present and their drink offerings. NIV 15 together with their grain offerings and drink offerings, and a basket of bread made with the finest flour and without yeast—thick loaves with olive oil mixed in, and thin loaves brushed with olive oil. JUB 16 And the priest shall bring them before the LORD and shall offer his sin and his burnt offering; NIV 16 “ ‘The priest is to present all these before the LORD and make the sin offering and the burnt offering. JUB 17 and he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace unto the LORD, with the basket of unleavened bread; the priest shall likewise offer his present and his drink offering. NIV 17 He is to present the basket of unleavened bread and is to sacrifice the ram as a fellowship offering to the LORD, together with its grain offering and drink offering. JUB 18 Then the Nazarite shall shave the head of their Nazariteship at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony and shall take the hair of the head of their Nazariteship and put it upon the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace. NIV 18 “ ‘Then at the entrance to the tent of meeting, the Nazirite must shave off the hair that symbolizes their dedication. They are to take the hair and put it in the fire that is under the sacrifice of the fellowship offering. JUB 19 Then the priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram and one unleavened cake out of the basket and one unleavened wafer and shall put them upon the hands of the Nazarite after their Nazariteship is shaven; NIV 19 “ ‘After the Nazirite has shaved off the hair that symbolizes their dedication, the priest is to place in their hands a boiled shoulder of the ram, and one thick loaf and one thin loaf from the basket, both made without yeast. JUB 20 and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD, which shall be a holy thing of the priest, with the wave breast and heave shoulder; and after that the Nazarite shall drink wine. NIV 20 The priest shall then wave these before the LORD as a wave offering; they are holy and belong to the priest, together with the breast that was waved and the thigh that was presented. After that, the Nazirite may drink wine. JUB 21 This is the law of the Nazarite who made a vow of their offering unto the LORD for their Nazariteship, beside that which their means allows, according to the vow which they vowed, so they must do according to the law of their Nazariteship. NIV 21 “ ‘This is the law of the Nazirite who vows offerings to the LORD in accordance with their dedication, in addition to whatever else they can afford. They must fulfill the vows they have made, according to the law of the Nazirite.’ ” JUB 22 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, NIV 22 The LORD said to Moses, JUB 23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, Thus shall ye bless the sons of Israel, saying unto them, NIV 23 “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: JUB 24 The LORD bless thee and keep thee; NIV 24 “ ‘ “The LORD bless you and keep you; JUB 25 the LORD make his face shine upon thee and have mercy on thee; NIV 25 the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; JUB 26 the LORD lift up his face upon thee, and place peace in thee. NIV 26 the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.” ’ JUB 27 And they shall place my name upon the sons of Israel, and I will bless them. NIV 27 “So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”
