Psalms 130

NIRV

NIV

1 Lord, I cry out to you because I'm suffering so deeply.
1 Out of the depths I cry to you, LORD;
2 Lord, listen to me. Pay attention to my cry for your favor.
2 Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
3 Lord, suppose you kept a record of sins. Lord, who then wouldn't be found guilty?
3 If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?
4 But you forgive. So people have respect for you.
4 But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
5 With all my heart I wait for the LORD to help me. I put my hope in his word.
5 I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.
6 I wait for the Lord to help me. I wait with more longing than those on guard duty wait for the morning. I'll say it again. I wait with more longing than those on guard duty wait for the morning.
6 I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
7 Israel, put your hope in the Lord, because the LORD's love never fails. He sets his people completely free.
7 Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption.
8 He himself will set Israel free from all of their sins.
8 He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.
