Psalm 19

GNTA 1 How clearly the sky reveals God's glory! How plainly it shows what he has done! NIV 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. GNTA 2 Each day announces it to the following day; each night repeats it to the next. NIV 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. GNTA 3 No speech or words are used, no sound is heard; NIV 3 They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. GNTA 4 yet their message goes out to all the world and is heard to the ends of the earth. God made a home in the sky for the sun; NIV 4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. GNTA 5 it comes out in the morning like a happy bridegroom, like an athlete eager to run a race. NIV 5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. GNTA 6 It starts at one end of the sky and goes across to the other. Nothing can hide from its heat. NIV 6 It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. GNTA 7 The law of the Lord is perfect; it gives new strength. The commands of the Lord are trustworthy, giving wisdom to those who lack it. NIV 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. GNTA 8 The laws of the Lord are right, and those who obey them are happy. The commands of the Lord are just and give understanding to the mind. NIV 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. GNTA 9 Reverence for the Lord is good; it will continue forever. The judgments of the Lord are just; they are always fair. NIV 9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous. GNTA 10 They are more desirable than the finest gold; they are sweeter than the purest honey. NIV 10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. GNTA 11 They give knowledge to me, your servant; I am rewarded for obeying them. NIV 11 By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. GNTA 12 None of us can see our own errors; deliver me, Lord, from hidden faults! NIV 12 But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. GNTA 13 Keep me safe, also, from willful sins; don't let them rule over me. Then I shall be perfect and free from the evil of sin. NIV 13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. GNTA 14 May my words and my thoughts be acceptable to you, O Lord, my refuge and my redeemer! NIV 14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
