Psalm 19

RHE 1 (18-1) <Unto the end. A Psalm Chapter for David.> (18-2) The heavens shew forth the glory of God, and the firmament declareth the work of his hands. NIV 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. RHE 2 (18-3) Day to day uttereth speech, and night to night sheweth knowledge. NIV 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. RHE 3 (18-4) There are no speeches nor languages, where their voices are not heard. NIV 3 They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. RHE 4 (18-5) Their sound hath gone forth into all the earth: and their words unto the ends of the world. NIV 4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. RHE 5 (18-6) He hath set his tabernacle in the sun: and he as a bridegroom coming out of his bridechamber, Hath rejoiced as a giant to run the way: NIV 5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. RHE 6 (18-7) His going out is from the end of heaven, And his circuit even to the end thereof: and there is no one that can hide himself from his heat. NIV 6 It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. RHE 7 (18-8) The law of the Lord is unspotted, converting souls: the testimony of the Lord is faithful, giving wisdom to little ones. NIV 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. RHE 8 (18-9) The justices of the Lord are right, rejoicing hearts: the commandment of the Lord is lightsome, enlightening the eyes. NIV 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. RHE 9 (18-10) The fear of the Lord is holy, enduring for ever and ever: the judgments of the Lord are true, justified in themselves. NIV 9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous. RHE 10 (18-11) More to be desired than gold and many precious stones: and sweeter than honey and the honeycomb. NIV 10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. RHE 11 (18-12) For thy servant keepeth them, and in keeping them there is a great reward. NIV 11 By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. RHE 12 (18-13) Who can understand sins? from my secret ones cleanse me, O Lord: NIV 12 But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. RHE 13 (18-14) And from those of others spare thy servant. If they shall have no dominion over me, then shall I be without spot: and I shall be cleansed form the greatest sin. NIV 13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. RHE 14 (18-15) And the words of my mouth shall be such as may please: and the meditation of my heart always in thy sight. O Lord, my helper and my Redeemer. NIV 14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
