Psalm 30

GNT 1 I praise you, Lord, because you have saved me and kept my enemies from gloating over me. NIV 1 I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. GNT 2 I cried to you for help, O Lord my God, and you healed me; NIV 2 LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. GNT 3 you kept me from the grave. I was on my way to the depths below, but you restored my life. NIV 3 You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit. GNT 4 Sing praise to the Lord, all his faithful people! Remember what the Holy One has done, and give him thanks! NIV 4 Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name. GNT 5 His anger lasts only a moment, his goodness for a lifetime. Tears may flow in the night, but joy comes in the morning. NIV 5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. GNT 6 I felt secure and said to myself, "I will never be defeated." NIV 6 When I felt secure, I said, “I will never be shaken.” GNT 7 You were good to me, Lord; you protected me like a mountain fortress. But then you hid yourself from me, and I was afraid. NIV 7 LORD, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed. GNT 8 I called to you, Lord; I begged for your help: NIV 8 To you, LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy: GNT 9 "What will you gain from my death? What profit from my going to the grave? Are dead people able to praise you? Can they proclaim your unfailing goodness? NIV 9 “What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness? GNT 10 Hear me, Lord, and be merciful! Help me, Lord!" NIV 10 Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me; LORD, be my help.” GNT 11 You have changed my sadness into a joyful dance; you have taken away my sorrow and surrounded me with joy. NIV 11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, GNT 12 So I will not be silent; I will sing praise to you. Lord, you are my God; I will give you thanks forever. NIV 12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.
