Psalm 48

CSB 1 The Lord is great and is highly praised in the city of our God. His holy mountain, NIV 1 Great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain. CSB 2 rising splendidly, is the joy of the whole earth. Mount Zion on the slopes of the north is the city of the great King. NIV 2 Beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth, like the heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the Great King. CSB 3 God is known as a stronghold in its citadels. NIV 3 God is in her citadels; he has shown himself to be her fortress. CSB 4 Look! The kings assembled; they advanced together. NIV 4 When the kings joined forces, when they advanced together, CSB 5 They looked, and froze with fear; they fled in terror. NIV 5 they saw her and were astounded; they fled in terror. CSB 6 Trembling seized them there, agony like that of a woman in labor, NIV 6 Trembling seized them there, pain like that of a woman in labor. Selah NIV 8 As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of the LORD Almighty, in the city of our God: God makes her secure forever. CSB 9 God, within Your temple, we contemplate Your faithful love. NIV 9 Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love. CSB 10 Your name, God, like Your praise, reaches to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is filled with justice. NIV 10 Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled with righteousness. CSB 11 Mount Zion is glad. The towns of Judah rejoice because of Your judgments. NIV 11 Mount Zion rejoices, the villages of Judah are glad because of your judgments. CSB 12 Go around Zion, encircle it; count its towers, NIV 12 Walk about Zion, go around her, count her towers, CSB 13 note its ramparts; tour its citadels so that you can tell a future generation: NIV 13 consider well her ramparts, view her citadels, that you may tell of them to the next generation. CSB 14 "This God, our God forever and ever- He will lead us eternally." NIV 14 For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.
