6 When one of them comes to see me, he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander; then he goes out and spreads it around.
6 (40-7) And if he came in to see me, he spoke vain things: his heart gathered together iniquity to itself. He went out and spoke to the same purpose.
7 All my enemies whisper together against me; they imagine the worst for me, saying,
7 (40-8) All my enemies whispered together against me: they devised evils to me.
8 “A vile disease has afflicted him; he will never get up from the place where he lies.”
8 (40-9) They determined against me an unjust word: shall he that sleepeth rise again no more?
9 Even my close friend, someone I trusted, one who shared my bread, has turned against me.
9 (40-10) For even the man of my peace, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, hath greatly supplanted me.
10 But may you have mercy on me, LORD; raise me up, that I may repay them.
10 (40-11) But thou, O Lord, have mercy on me, and raise my up again: and I will requite them.
11 I know that you are pleased with me, for my enemy does not triumph over me.
11 (40-12) By this I know, that thou hast had a good will for me: because my enemy shall not rejoice over me.
12 Because of my integrity you uphold me and set me in your presence forever.
12 (40-13) But thou hast upheld me by reason of my innocence: and hast established me in thy sight for ever.
13 Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.
13 (40-14) Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel from eternity to eternity. So be it. So be it.
