1 <em>Make haste</em>, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD.

Hasten, O God, to save me; come quickly, LORD, to help me.
2 Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my life; let them be turned backward and put to confusion that desire my hurt.

May those who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace.
3 Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha.

May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!” turn back because of their shame.
4 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee, and let such as love thy saving health say continually, Let God be magnified.

But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, “The LORD is great!”
5 But I <em>am</em> poor and destitute; make haste unto me, O God: thou <em>art</em> my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.
