1 ALEGRAOS, justos, en Jehová: A los rectos es hermosa la alabanza.

Joyfully sing to the LORD, you righteous people. Praising [the LORD] is proper for decent people.
2 Celebrad á Jehová con arpa: Cantadle con salterio y decacordio.

Give thanks with a lyre to the LORD. Make music for him on a ten-stringed harp.
3 Cantadle canción nueva: Hacedlo bien tañendo con júbilo.

Sing a new song to him. Play beautifully and joyfully on stringed instruments.
4 Porque recta es la palabra de Jehová, Y toda su obra con verdad hecha.

The word of the LORD is correct, and everything he does is trustworthy.
5 El ama justicia y juicio: De la misericordia de Jehová está llena la tierra.

The LORD loves righteousness and justice. His mercy fills the earth.
6 Por la palabra de Jehová fueron hechos los cielos, Y todo el ejército de ellos por el espíritu de su boca.

The heavens were made by the word of the LORD and all the stars by the breath of his mouth.
7 El junta como en un montón las aguas de la mar: El pone en depósitos los abismos.

He gathers the water in the sea like a dam and puts the oceans in his storehouses.
8 Tema á Jehová toda la tierra: Teman de él todos los habitadores del mundo.

Let all the earth fear the LORD. Let all who live in the world stand in awe of him.
9 Porque él dijo, y fué hecho; El mandó, y existió.

He spoke, and it came into being. He gave the order, and there it stood.
10 Jehová hace nulo el consejo de las gentes, Y frustra las maquinaciones de los pueblos.

The LORD blocks the plans of the nations. He frustrates the schemes of the people of the world.
11 El consejo de Jehová permanecerá para siempre; Los pensamientos de su corazón por todas las generaciones.

The LORD's plan stands firm forever. His thoughts stand firm in every generation.
12 Bienaventurada la gente de que Jehová es su Dios; El pueblo á quien escogió por heredad para sí.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD. Blessed are the people he has chosen as his own.
13 Desde los cielos miró Jehová; Vió á todos los hijos de los hombres:

The LORD looks down from heaven. He sees all of Adam's descendants.
14 Desde la morada de su asiento miró Sobre todos los moradores de la tierra.

From the place where he sits enthroned, he looks down upon all who live on earth.
15 El formó el corazón de todos ellos; El considera todas sus obras.

The one who formed their hearts understands everything they do.
16 El rey no es salvo con la multitud del ejército: No escapa el valiente por la mucha fuerza.

No king achieves a victory with a large army. No warrior rescues himself by his own great strength.
17 Vanidad es el caballo para salvarse: Por la grandeza de su fuerza no librará.

Horses are not a guarantee for victory. Their great strength cannot help someone escape.
18 He aquí, el ojo de Jehová sobre los que le temen, Sobre los que esperan en su misericordia;

The LORD's eyes are on those who fear him, on those who wait with hope for his mercy
19 Para librar sus almas de la muerte, Y para darles vida en el hambre.

to rescue their souls from death and keep them alive during a famine.
20 Nuestra alma esperó á Jehová; Nuestra ayuda y nuestro escudo es él.

We wait for the LORD. He is our help and our shield.
21 Por tanto en él se alegrará nuestro corazón, Porque en su santo nombre hemos confiado.

In him our hearts find joy. In his holy name we trust.
22 Sea tu misericordia, oh Jehová, sobre nosotros, Como esperamos en ti.

Let your mercy rest on us, O LORD, since we wait with hope for you.
