1 En verdad, ¡cuán bueno es Dios con Israel,con los puros de corazón!

Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.
2 Yo estuve a punto de caer,y poco me faltó para que resbalara.

But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold.
3 Sentí envidia de los arrogantes,al ver la prosperidad de esos malvados.

For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 Ellos no tienen ningún problema;su cuerpo está fuerte y saludable.

They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong.
5 Libres están de los afanes de todos;no les afectan los infortunios humanos.

They are free from common human burdens; they are not plagued by human ills.
6 Por eso lucen su orgullo como un collar,y hacen gala de su violencia.

Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence.
7 ¡Están que revientan de malicia,y hasta se les ven sus malas intenciones!

From their callous hearts comes iniquity ; their evil imaginations have no limits.
8 Son burlones, hablan con doblez,y arrogantes oprimen y amenazan.

They scoff, and speak with malice; with arrogance they threaten oppression.
9 Con la boca increpan al cielo,con la lengua dominan la tierra.

Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth.
10 Por eso la gente acude a ellosy cree todo lo que afirman.

Therefore their people turn to them and drink up waters in abundance.
11 Hasta dicen: «¿Cómo puede Dios saberlo?¿Acaso el Altísimo tiene entendimiento?»

They say, “How would God know? Does the Most High know anything?”
12 Así son los impíos;sin afanarse, aumentan sus riquezas.

This is what the wicked are like— always free of care, they go on amassing wealth.
13 En verdad, ¿de qué me sirve mantener mi corazón limpioy mis manos lavadas en la inocencia,

Surely in vain I have kept my heart pure and have washed my hands in innocence.
14 si todo el día me golpeany de mañana me castigan?

All day long I have been afflicted, and every morning brings new punishments.
15 Si hubiera dicho: «Voy a hablar como ellos»,habría traicionado a tu linaje.

If I had spoken out like that, I would have betrayed your children.
16 Cuando traté de comprender todo esto,me resultó una carga insoportable,

When I tried to understand all this, it troubled me deeply
17 hasta que entré en el santuario de Dios;allí comprendí cuál será el destino de los malvados:

till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny.
18 En verdad, los has puesto en terreno resbaladizo,y los empujas a su propia destrucción.

Surely you place them on slippery ground; you cast them down to ruin.
19 ¡En un instante serán destruidos,totalmente consumidos por el terror!

How suddenly are they destroyed, completely swept away by terrors!
20 Como quien despierta de un sueño,así, Señor, cuando tú te levantes,desecharás su falsa apariencia.

They are like a dream when one awakes; when you arise, Lord, you will despise them as fantasies.
21 Se me afligía el corazóny se me amargaba el ánimo
21
When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered,
22 por mi necedad e ignorancia.¡Me porté contigo como una bestia!

I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you.
23 Pero yo siempre estoy contigo,pues tú me sostienes de la mano derecha.

Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.
24 Me guías con tu consejo,y más tarde me acogerás en gloria.

You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.
25 ¿A quién tengo en el cielo sino a ti?Si estoy contigo, ya nada quiero en la tierra.

Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
26 Podrán desfallecer mi cuerpo y mi espíritu,pero Dios fortalece mi corazón;él es mi herencia eterna.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
27 Perecerán los que se alejen de ti;tú destruyes a los que te son infieles.
27
Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.
28 Para mí el bien es estar cerca de Dios.He hecho del SEÑOR Soberano mi refugiopara contar todas sus obras.

But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.
