1 Oración de Moisés Varón de Dios. Señor, tú nos has sido refugio en generación y en generación.

Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.
2 Antes que naciesen los montes y formases la tierra y el mundo, y desde el siglo y hasta el siglo, tú <I>eres</I> Dios.

Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
3 Vuelves al hombre hasta ser quebrantado, y dices: Convertíos, hijos de los hombres.

You turn people back to dust, saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”
4 Porque mil años delante de tus ojos, <I>son</I> como el día de ayer, que pasó, y <I>como</I> la vela de la noche.

A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.
5 Los haces pasar como avenida de aguas; son <I>como</I> sueño; a la mañana está fuerte como la yerba,

Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death— they are like the new grass of the morning:
6 <I>que</I> a la mañana florece, y crece; a la tarde es cortada, y se seca.

In the morning it springs up new, but by evening it is dry and withered.
7 Porque con tu furor somos consumidos, y con tu ira somos conturbados.

We are consumed by your anger and terrified by your indignation.
8 Pusiste nuestras maldades delante de ti, nuestros yerros a la lumbre de tu rostro.

You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence.
9 Porque todos nuestros días declinan a causa de tu ira; acabamos nuestros años según la palabra.

All our days pass away under your wrath; we finish our years with a moan.
10 Los días de nuestra edad son setenta años; y de los más valientes, ochenta años, y su fortaleza <I>es</I> molestia y trabajo; porque es cortado presto, y volamos.

Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
11 ¿Quién conoce la fortaleza de tu ira? Que tu ira no es menor que nuestro temor.

If only we knew the power of your anger! Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.
12 Para contar nuestros días haznos saber así, y traeremos al corazón sabiduría.

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
13 Vuélvete <I>a nosotros</I> , oh SEÑOR: ¿hasta cuándo? Y aplácate para con tus siervos.

Relent, LORD! How long will it be? Have compassion on your servants.
14 Sácianos de mañana de tu misericordia; y cantaremos, y nos alegraremos todos nuestros días.

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
15 Alégranos conforme a los días que nos afligiste, y los años <I>en</I> que vimos <I>el</I> mal.

Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble.
16 Aparezca en tus siervos tu obra, y tu gloria sobre sus hijos.

May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children.
17 Y sea la hermosura del SEÑOR nuestro Dios sobre nosotros; y enderezca sobre nosotros la obra de nuestras manos, la obra de nuestras manos enderezca.

May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.
