2 Chronik 17:14-19

14 Und dies war ihre Einteilung nach ihren Vaterhäusern: Von Juda waren Oberste über Tausende: Adna, der Oberste, und mit ihm dreihunderttausend tapfere Helden;

15 und neben ihm Jochanan, der Oberste, und mit ihm zweihundertachtzigtausend;

16 und neben ihm Amasja, der Sohn Sikris, der sich Jehova freiwillig gestellt hatte, und mit ihm zweihunderttausend tapfere Helden.

17 Und von Benjamin: der tapfere Held Eljada und mit ihm zweihunderttausend mit Bogen und Schild Bewaffnete;

18 und neben ihm Josabad, und mit ihm hundertachtzigtausend zum Heere Gerüstete.

19 Diese waren es, die dem König dienten, außer denen, welche der König in die festen Städte von ganz Juda gelegt hatte.

This chapter relates the accession of Jehoshaphat to the throne, his settlement on it, his piety, and reformation in religion, 2Ch 17:1-6, his care to instruct the people in the law of God, 2Ch 17:7-9, the respect shown him by neighbouring nations, 2Ch 17:10,11, the fortified places of his kingdom, his numerous forces and mighty men at the head of them, 2Ch 17:12-19.
