Salmos 95:1-9

1 Venid, alegrémonos al SEÑOR; cantemos con júbilo a la roca de nuestra salud.

2 Lleguemos ante su presencia con alabanza; cantemos a El con júbilo.

3 Porque el SEÑOR es Dios grande; y Rey grande sobre todos los dioses.

4 Porque en su mano están las profundidades de la tierra, y las alturas de los montes son suyas.

5 Suyo también el mar, pues él lo hizo; y sus manos formaron la tierra seca.

6 Venid, postrémonos y adoremos; arrodillémonos delante del SEÑOR nuestro hacedor.

7 Porque él es nuestro Dios; y nosotros el pueblo de su prado, y ovejas de su mano. Si hoy oyereis su voz,

8 no endurezcáis vuestro corazón como en Meriba, como el día de Masá en el desierto;

9 donde me tentaron vuestros padres, me probaron, y vieron mi obra.

INTRODUCTION TO PSALM 95

This psalm, though without a title, was written by David, as appears from Heb 4:7, and to him the Septuagint, Vulgate Latin, Syriac, Arabic, and Ethiopic versions ascribe it. It belongs to the times of the Messiah, as Kimchi observes; the apostle applies it to the Jews of his time, and bespeaks them in the language of it, Heb 3:7-11, and in which time Israelites, believers in Christ, are called upon to serve and worship him, in consideration of his greatness in himself, and his goodness to them. Theodoret thinks that David spoke prophetically of King Josiah and his times; and wrote it in the person of him, and the priests of God.
