Many fail to realize the pain of infertility. One man was so upset over his
inability to reproduce that he actually committed suicide. Most infertile
couples chose the wiser course of adoption. But the desire to physically
reproduce oneself is very strong. Some creatures in the insect world live only
to reproduce the next generation. Having done that, they immediately die.
Unfortunately the desire to spiritually reproduce ourselves is often very weak.
Fortunately, there are many worthwhile things for Christians to do in the world, but certainly one of them is to reproduce themselves. And Christians who do not at least desire to win someone else to the faith they cherish have seriously misunderstood what it means to be a Christian.
