19 a motivo de’ peccati che aveva commessi, facendo ciò ch’è male agli occhi dell’Eterno, battendo la via di Geroboamo e abbandonandosi al peccato che questi avea commesso, inducendo a peccare Israele.

1 Kings 16:19

For his sins which he sinned in doing evil in the sight of the
Lord
In the former part of his life, as well as now:

in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did to make
Israel sin;
worshipping the golden calves, which he might do while a captain of the chariots, and also since he usurped the crown, sacrificing to them by way of thanksgiving, for being in possession of the kingdom; and though his reign was so short, he might give plain and strong intimations that he should continue the worship of idols.

17 Ed Omri con tutto Israele salì da Ghibbethon e assediò Tirtsa.

18 Zimri, vedendo che la città era presa, si ritirò nella torre della casa del re, diè fuoco alla casa reale restando sotto alle rovine, e così mori,

19 a motivo de’ peccati che aveva commessi, facendo ciò ch’è male agli occhi dell’Eterno, battendo la via di Geroboamo e abbandonandosi al peccato che questi avea commesso, inducendo a peccare Israele.

20 Il resto delle azioni di Zimri, la congiura ch’egli ordì, sono cose scritte nel libro delle Cronache dei re d’Israele.

21 Allora il popolo d’Israele si divise in due parti: metà del popolo seguiva Tibni, figliuolo di Ghinath, per farlo re; l’altra metà seguiva Omri.
