6 "Badate bene a quello che fate; poiché voi amministrate la giustizia, non per servire ad un uomo ma per servire all’Eterno; il quale sarà con voi negli affari della giustizia.

2 Chronicles 19:6

And said to the judges, take heed what you do
In judgment, that they judged righteous judgment according to the law of God, without partiality and respect of persons:

for ye judge not for man, but for the Lord;
not for man only, but for the Lord; and not so much for man as for the Lord, whom they represented in judgment; whose law was the rule of their judgment, and whose glory their end, and to whom they were accountable:

who is with you in the judgment:
as to guide and direct you, so to observe how they behaved, and be a witness for or against them; the Targum is,

``ye judge not before men, but before the Word of the Lord, whose Shechinah dwells with you in the affair of judgment.''

4 Giosafat rimase a Gerusalemme; poi fece di nuovo un giro fra il popolo, da Beer-Sceba alla contrada montuosa d’Efraim, e lo ricondusse all’Eterno, all’Iddio de’ suoi padri.

5 E stabilì dei giudici nel paese, in tutte le città fortificate di Giuda, città per città, e disse ai giudici:

6 "Badate bene a quello che fate; poiché voi amministrate la giustizia, non per servire ad un uomo ma per servire all’Eterno; il quale sarà con voi negli affari della giustizia.

7 Or dunque il timor dell’Eterno sia in voi; agite con circospezione, poiché presso l’Eterno, ch’è l’Iddio nostro, non v’è né perversità, né riguardo a qualità di persone, né accettazione di doni".

8 Giosafat, tornato che fu a Gerusalemme, stabilì anche quivi dei Leviti, dei sacerdoti e dei capi delle case patriarcali d’Israele per render giustizia nel nome dell’Eterno, e per sentenziare nelle liti.
