Atti 3:9 Meaning and Commentary

Acts 3:9

And all the people
That were in the temple,

saw him walking;
who before lay on a couch, or on the ground, and was so lame, that he was obliged to be carried;

and praising God;
for this miraculous cure. The Arabic version renders it, "saw him walking to praise God": that is, entering into the temple with the apostles, in order to offer up the sacrifice of praise to God there.

7 E presolo per la man destra, lo sollevò; e in quell’istante le piante e le caviglie de’ piedi gli si raffermarono.
8 E d’un salto si rizzò in piè e cominciò a camminare; ed entrò con loro nel tempio, camminando, e saltando, e lodando Iddio.
9 E tutto il popolo lo vide che camminava e lodava Iddio;
10 e lo riconoscevano per quello che sedeva a chieder l’elemosina alla porta "Bella" del tempio; e furono ripieni di sbigottimento e di stupore per quel che gli era avvenuto.
11 E mentre colui teneva stretti a sé Pietro e Giovanni, tutto il popolo, attonito, accorse a loro al portico detto di Salomone.
