Jeremiah 30:12

For thus saith the Lord, thy bruise [is] incurable
By themselves or others, in all human appearance; there was no help for them from men; their case seemed desperate; there was no likelihood of their recovery to their former state and glory, as at this day the case of the Jews appears to be; there seems to be no probability of their conversion and restoration; and whenever it is, it will be as life from the dead, ( Romans 11:15 ) ; like quickening Ezekiel's dry bones, or raising persons from the dead, which none but the hand of omnipotence can effect: [and] thy wound [is] grievous;
an expression signifying the same as before: the metaphor is taken from a body wounded and bruised in such a manner, as to be past the skill of the most able surgeon to cure it.

10 Tu dunque, o Giacobbe, mio servitore, non temere, dice l’Eterno; non ti sgomentare, o Israele; poiché, ecco, io ti salverò dal lontano paese, salverò la tua progenie dalla terra della sua cattività; Giacobbe ritornerà, sarà in riposo, sarà tranquillo, e nessuno più lo spaventerà.

11 Poiché io son teco, dice l’Eterno, per salvarti; io annienterò tutte le nazioni fra le quali t’ho disperso, ma non annienterò te; però, ti castigherò con giusta misura, e non ti lascerò del tutto impunito.

12 Così parla l’Eterno: La tua ferita è incurabile, la tua piaga è grave.

13 Nessuno prende in mano la tua causa per fasciar la tua piaga; tu non hai medicamenti atti a guarirla.

14 Tutti i tuoi amanti t’hanno dimenticata, non si curano più di te; poiché io t’ho percossa come si percuote un nemico, t’ho inflitto la correzione d’un uomo crudele, per la grandezza della tua iniquità, perché i tuoi peccati sono andati aumentando.
