Luke 20:11

And again he sent another servant
Or set of prophets in after times, and yet before the Babylonish captivity:

and they beat him also;
as they had done the other; they continued in their malpractices, yea increased in them:

and entreated him shamefully;
putting him to open shame, using him in a very ignominious and shameful manner, which it was a shame to relate, and which was shameful for them to do:

and sent him away empty;
as they had done the other.

9 Poi prese a dire al popolo questa parabola: Un uomo piantò una vigna, l’allogò a dei lavoratori, e se n’andò in viaggio per lungo tempo.

10 E nella stagione mandò a que’ lavoratori un servitore perché gli dessero del frutto della vigna; ma i lavoratori, battutolo, lo rimandarono a mani vuote.

11 Ed egli di nuovo mandò un altro servitore; ma essi, dopo aver battuto e vituperato anche questo, lo rimandarono a mani vuote.

12 Ed egli ne mandò ancora un terzo; ed essi, dopo aver ferito anche questo, lo scacciarono.

13 Allora il padron della vigna disse: Che farò? Manderò il mio diletto figliuolo; forse a lui porteranno rispetto.
