Luke 23:36

And the soldiers also mocked him
The Roman soldiers, to whom the execution was committed, who crucified him, and parted his garments, and stood at his cross watching; these joined in the insult, which is not to be wondered at. Coming to him and offering him vinegar; which was what was a part of their allowance, and was their drink; (See Gill on John 19:29).

34 E Gesù diceva: Padre, perdona loro, perché non sanno quello che fanno. Poi, fatte delle parti delle sue vesti, trassero a sorte.
35 E il popolo stava a guardare. E anche i magistrati si facean beffe di lui, dicendo: Ha salvato altri, salvi se stesso, se è il Cristo, l’Eletto di Dio!
36 E i soldati pure lo schernivano, accostandosi, presentandogli dell’aceto e dicendo
37 Se tu sei il re de’ Giudei, salva te stesso!
38 E v’era anche questa iscrizione sopra il suo capo: QUESTO E IL RE DEI GIUDEI
