16 Hizo también el rey Salomón doscientos paveses de oro extendido: seiscientos siclos de oro gastó en cada pavés.

1 Kings 10:16

And King Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold,
&c.] Which were a larger sort of shields, which covered the whole body; and these were made of gold beaten with the hammer, or drawn into plates, being melted like wax; so the Poeni or Carthaginians made shields of gold F13:

six hundred shekels of gold went to one target;
which is to be understood not of the weight, but of the price or value of them, which amounted to four hundred and fifty pounds of our money; so Brerewood F14.

14 El peso del oro que Salomón tenía de renta cada un año, era seiscientos sesenta y seis talentos de oro;
15 Sin lo de los mercaderes, y de la contratación de especias, y de todos los reyes de Arabia, y de los principales de la tierra.
16 Hizo también el rey Salomón doscientos paveses de oro extendido: seiscientos siclos de oro gastó en cada pavés.
17 Asimismo trescientos escudos de oro extendido, en cada uno de los cuales gastó tres libras de oro: y púsolos el rey en la casa del bosque del Líbano.
18 Hizo también el rey un gran trono de marfil, el cual cubrió de oro purísimo.
