1 Kings 22:1

And they continued three years without war between Syria
and Israel.
] From the time that Benhadad made a covenant with Ahab; not three full years, but part of them: it was threatened by Elijah from the Lord, that Ahab's life should go for Benhadad's, because he had let him, go, ( 1 Kings 22:42 ) , but because of his humiliation, as is thought by Ben Gersom and others, it was respited for those three years; and now an opportunity and occasion would be given for the fulfilment of what was threatened.

1 TRES años pasaron sin guerra entre los Siros é Israel.
2 Y aconteció al tercer año, que Josaphat rey de Judá descendió al rey de Israel.
3 Y el rey de Israel dijo á sus siervos: ¿No sabéis que es nuestra Ramoth de Galaad? y nosotros callamos en orden á tomarla de mano del rey de Siria.
4 Y dijo á Josaphat: ¿Quieres venir conmigo á pelear contra Ramoth de Galaad? Y Josaphat respondió al rey de Israel: Como yo, así tú; y como mi pueblo, así tu pueblo; y como mis caballos, tus caballos.
5 Y dijo luego Josaphat al rey de Israel: Yo te ruego que consultes hoy la palabra de Jehová.
