2 Crónicas 14:1-6

1 Y DURMIO Abías con sus padres, y fué sepultado en la ciudad de David. Y reinó en su lugar su hijo Asa, en cuyos días tuvo sosiego el país por diez años.

2 E hizo Asa lo bueno y lo recto en los ojos de Jehová su Dios.

3 Porque quitó los altares del culto ajeno, y los altos; quebró las imágenes, y taló los bosques;

4 Y mandó á Judá que buscasen á Jehová el Dios de sus padres, y pusiesen por obra la ley y sus mandamientos.

5 Quitó asimismo de todas las ciudades de Judá los altos y las imágenes, y estuvo el reino quieto delante de él.

6 Y edificó ciudades fuertes en Judá, por cuanto había paz en la tierra, y no había guerra contra él en aquellos tiempos; porque Jehová le había dado reposo.

INTRODUCTION TO 2 CHRONICLES 14

This chapter relates the death of Abijah, and the succession of Asa in his stead, 2Ch 14:1, gives a good character of the latter for his reformation in religion, and for the care he took for the safety and protection of his subjects, 2Ch 14:2-8, and an account is given of a large army of Ethiopians that came against him, over whom he crying to the Lord, and trusting in him, by his help obtained a complete victory, 2Ch 14:9-15.
