18 Y anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, como hizo la casa de Achâb, porque una hija de Achâb fué su mujer; é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová.

2 Kings 8:18

And he walked in the way of the king's of Israel, as did the
house of Ahab
Imitated them in idolatry:

for the daughter of Ahab was his wife;
whose name was Athaliah, ( 2 Kings 8:26 ) , and by her he was drawn into idolatrous practices; of such bad consequence are marriages with idolaters; it is very much that so good a king as Jehoshaphat his father was should contract such an affinity; he suffered for it in more instances than one:

and he did evil in the sight of the Lord;
was guilty of idolatry, than which nothing was more displeasing to the Lord; for he made high places, and compelled his subjects to commit idolatry, ( 2 Chronicles 21:11 ) .

16 En el quinto año de Joram hijo de Achâb rey de Israel, y siendo Josaphat rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Joram hijo de Josaphat rey de Judá.

17 De treinta y dos años era cuando comenzó á reinar, y ocho años reinó en Jerusalem.

18 Y anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, como hizo la casa de Achâb, porque una hija de Achâb fué su mujer; é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová.

19 Con todo eso, Jehová no quiso cortar á Judá, por amor de David su siervo, como le había prometido darle lámpara de sus hijos perpetuamente.

20 En su tiempo se rebeló Edom de debajo de la mano de Judá, y pusieron rey sobre sí.
