Jeremías 48:43 Meaning and Commentary

Jeremiah 48:43

Fear, and the pit, and the snare, [shall be] upon thee
A proverbial expression, showing, that if they escaped one danger, or sore judgment, they should fall into another and greater: the words seem to be taken from ( Isaiah 24:17 ) ; (See Gill on Isaiah 24:17); O inhabitant of Moab, saith the Lord;
what in the prophecy of Isaiah is said of the inhabitants of the earth in general, is here applied to the inhabitants of Moab in particular.

41 Tomadas son las ciudades, y tomadas son las fortalezas; y ser谩 aquel d铆a el coraz贸n de los valientes de Moab como el coraz贸n de mujer en angustias.
42 Y Moab ser谩 destru铆do para dejar de ser pueblo: porque se engrandeci贸 contra Jehov谩.
43 Miedo y hoyo y lazo sobre ti, oh morador de Moab, dice Jehov谩.
44 El que huyere del miedo, caer谩 en el hoyo; y el que saliere del hoyo, ser谩 preso del lazo: porque yo traer茅 sobre 茅l, sobre Moab, a帽o de su visitaci贸n, dice Jehov谩.
45 A la sombra de Hesb贸n se pararon los que hu铆an de la fuerza; mas sali贸 fuego de Hesb贸n, y llama de en medio de Sih贸n, y quem贸 el rinc贸n de Moab, y la mollera de los hijos revoltosos.
