Josué 10:35-43

35 Y la tomaron el mismo día, y metiéronla á cuchillo; y aquel día mató á todo lo que en ella había vivo, como había hecho en Lachîs.

36 Subió luego Josué, y todo Israel con él, de Eglón á Hebrón, y combatiéronla;

37 Y tomándola, la metieron á cuchillo, á su rey y á todas su ciudades, con todo lo que en ella había vivo, sin quedar nada: como habían hecho á Eglón, así la destruyeron con todo lo que en ella había vivo.

38 Y volviéndose Josué, y todo Israel con él, sobre Debir, combatióla;

39 Y tomóla, y á su rey, y á todas sus villas; y metiéronlos á cuchillo, y destruyeron todo lo que allí dentro había vivo, sin quedar nada; como había hecho á Hebrón, así hizo á Debir y á su rey; y como había hecho á Libna y á su rey.

40 Hirió pues Josué toda la región de las montañas, y del mediodía, y de los llanos, y de las cuestas, y á todos sus reyes, sin quedar nada; todo lo que tenía vida mató, al modo que Jehová Dios de Israel lo había mandado.

41 E hiriólos Josué desde Cades-barnea hasta Gaza, y toda la tierra de Gosén hasta Gabaón.

42 Todos estos reyes y sus tierras tomó Josué de una vez; porque Jehová el Dios de Israel peleaba por Israel.

43 Y tornóse Josué, y todo Israel con él, al campo en Gilgal.

INTRODUCTION TO JOSHUA 10

This chapter treats of the combination of five kings against the Gibeonites, Jos 10:1-5; and of the application of the Gibeonites to Joshua, for assistance, in virtue of the league between them, which was granted, Jos 10:6-9; of the slaughter of the army by the kings of Israel, and chiefly by hailstones from heaven, Jos 10:10,11; and of the standing still of the sun, and of the moon, while vengeance was taken on them, Jos 10:12-14; and of the five kings being hid in a cave, and of the usage of them when taken, Jos 10:15-27; and of the taking of Makkedah, Libnah, Lachish, Eglon, Hebron, and Debir, Jos 10:28-39; which finished the conquest of the southern part of the land, Jos 10:40-43.
