“Go through the camp and tell the people, ‘Get your provisions ready. Threedays from now you will cross the Jordan here to go in and take possession of the land the LORD your God is giving you for your own.’ ”

Within the threedays, all the men of Judah and Benjamin had gathered in Jerusalem. And on the twentieth day of the ninth month, all the people were sitting in the square before the house of God, greatly distressed by the occasion and because of the rain.

Threedays later he called together the local Jewish leaders. When they had assembled, Paul said to them: “My brothers, although I have done nothing against our people or against the customs of our ancestors, I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the Romans.

So Jehoshaphat and his men went to carry off their plunder, and they found among them a great amount of equipment and clothing and also articles of value—more than they could take away. There was so much plunder that it took threedays to collect it.

“Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for threedays, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”
