Números 23:15-25

15 Entonces él dijo a Balac: Ponte aquí junto a tu holocausto, y yo iré a encontrar a Dios allí.

16 Y el SEÑOR se encontró con Balaam, y puso palabra en su boca, y le dijo: Vuelve a Balac, y así has de decir.

17 Y vino a él, y he aquí que él estaba junto a su holocausto, y con él los príncipes de Moab; y le dijo Balac: ¿Qué ha dicho el SEÑOR?

18 Entonces él tomó su parábola, y dijo: Balac, levántate y oye; escucha mis palabras, hijo de Zipor:

19 Dios no es hombre, para que mienta; ni hijo de hombre para que se arrepienta. El dijo, ¿y no hará?; habló, ¿y no lo ejecutará

20 He aquí, yo he tomado bendición; y él bendijo, y no la revocaré.

21 No ha mirado iniquidad en Jacob, ni ha visto rebelión en Israel; el SEÑOR su Dios es con él, y júbilo de rey en él

22 Dios los ha sacado de Egipto; tiene fuerzas como de unicornio.

23 Porque en Jacob no hay agüero, ni adivinación en Israel. Como ahora, será dicho de Jacob y de Israel: ¡Lo que ha hecho Dios!

24 He aquí el pueblo, que como león se levantará, y como león se erguirá; no se echará hasta que coma la presa, y beba la sangre de los muertos.

25 Entonces Balac dijo a Balaam: Ya que no lo maldices, tampoco lo bendigas.

Números 23:15-25 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO EXODUS 23

This chapter gives an account of the sacrifices offered by Balak and Balaam, and how God met Balsam, and put a word into his mouth, which he delivered in the presence of the king of Moab and his princes, Nu 23:1-7, the substance of which are, the separate state and condition of Israel from other nations, their number, and the happiness of the righteous at death, Nu 23:8-10, which made Balak uneasy, since instead of cursing he blessed Israel, and therefore he had him to another place to take a view of the people, Nu 23:11-13 where having offered sacrifices, another word was put into the mouth of Balaam, and which he also delivered before the king and his nobles, Nu 23:14-18, in which were expressed the unchangeableness of God, the irreversibleness of the blessing of Israel, the strength, safety, happiness, and glory of that people, Nu 23:19-24 which made Balak more uneasy still; but willing to try him a third time, he carried him to another place, and there built altars, and offered sacrifices, the consequence of which is related in the next chapter, Nu 23:25-30.
