Psalms 80:7

7 Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause Thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.

Psalms 80:7 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 80:7

Turn us again, O God of hosts
The same with ( Psalms 80:3 ) , only instead of God there, here it is "the God of hosts"; the repetition of these words shows what was uppermost on the minds of God's people; what they were longing for, and most desirous of, namely, the light of God's countenance.

Psalms 80:7 In-Context

5 Thou feedest them with the bread of tears, and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
6 Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves.
7 Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause Thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
8 Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt; Thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.
9 Thou preparedst room for it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.
