And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, what mean ye by this service? ] Of killing and roasting a lamb, and eating it with bitter herbs, and of abstaining from leavened bread.

Keep thou this word; it shall be a lawful thing to thee and to thy sons till into without end. (Do thou this thing; yea, it shall be an everlasting rite for thee and for thy sons.)

And when ye shall enter into the land which the Lord shall give to you, as he promised, ye shall keep these ceremonies;

and when your sons shall say to you, What is this religion? (What is the meaning of this rite?)

ye shall say to them, It is the sacrifice of the passing (over) of the Lord, when he passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt, and smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses (but spared our houses). And the people was bowed, and worshipped.

And the sons of Israel went out (And the Israelites went out), and did as the Lord commanded to Moses and Aaron.
