Daniel 6:27

27 A deliverer, and rescuer, and doer of signs and wonders in the heavens and in earth [is] He who hath delivered Daniel from the paw of the lions.'

Daniel 6:27 Meaning and Commentary

Daniel 6:27

He delivereth and rescueth.
&c.] As he did the three companions of Daniel from the fiery furnace, and now Daniel himself from the lions' den: and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth;
which are out of the common course of nature, and not according to the laws of it; such as hindering the natural force of fire from burning, as in the case of the three children; and stopping the mouths of lions from devouring Daniel as follows: who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions;
or "from the hand" F18 of them; from their destroying paws, and devouring jaws; which was nothing less than a miracle, and a proof of the divine omnipotence and of his power of doing wonders.

Daniel 6:27 In-Context

25 Then Darius the king hath written to all the peoples, nations, and languages, who are dwelling in all the land: `Your peace be great!
26 From before me is made a decree, that in every dominion of my kingdom they are trembling and fearing before the God of Daniel, for He [is] the living God, and abiding to the ages, and His kingdom that which [is] not destroyed, and His dominion [is] unto the end.
27 A deliverer, and rescuer, and doer of signs and wonders in the heavens and in earth [is] He who hath delivered Daniel from the paw of the lions.'
28 And this Daniel hath prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
