1 Corinthians 4:14-21 (New American Standard)

View In My Bible
14 I do not write these things to 1shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved 2children. 15 For if you were to have countless 3tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in 4Christ Jesus I 5became your father through the 6gospel. 16 Therefore I exhort you, be 7imitators of me. 17 For this reason I 8have sent to you 9Timothy, who is my 10beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, 11just as I teach everywhere in every church. 18 Now some have become a12arrogant, as though I were not 13coming to you. 19 But I 14will come to you soon, 15if the Lord wills, and I shall find out, not the bwords of those who are 16arrogant but their power. 20 For the kingdom of God does 17not consist in cwords but in power. 21 What do you desire? 18Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love and a spirit of gentleness?
