Their vine comes from the vine of Sodom1 and from the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are filled with poison,2 and their clusters with bitterness.333
Their wine is the venom of serpents, the deadly poison of cobras.434
"Have I not kept this in reserve and sealed it in my vaults?535
It is mine to avenge;6 I will repay.7 In due time their foot will slip;8 their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them.9"

The LORD will judge his people10 and have compassion11 on his servants12 when he sees their strength is gone and no one is left, slave13 or free.

He will say: "Now where are their gods, the rock they took refuge in,1438
the gods who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their drink offerings?15 Let them rise up to help you! Let them give you shelter!

"See now that I myself am He!16 There is no god besides me.17 I put to death18 and I bring to life,19 I have wounded and I will heal,20 and no one can deliver out of my hand.2140
I lift my hand22 to heaven and declare: As surely as I live forever,2341
when I sharpen my flashing sword24 and my hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance25 on my adversaries and repay those who hate me.2642
I will make my arrows drunk with blood,27 while my sword devours flesh:28 the blood of the slain and the captives, the heads of the enemy leaders."
