Acts 2:32-42

32 This Jesus ¹God raised up, ²and of that we all are witnesses.

33 ³Being therefore ⁴exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from ⁵the Father ⁶the promise of the Holy Spirit, ⁷he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.

34 For ⁸David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, ⁹“‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,

35 until I make your enemies your footstool. ”’

36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that ¹⁰God has made him ¹¹both Lord and Christ, this Jesus ¹²whom you crucified. ”

37 Now when ¹³they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, ¹⁴what shall we do? ”

38 And Peter said to them, ¹⁵“Repent and ¹⁶be baptized every one of you ¹⁷in the name of Jesus Christ ¹⁸for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive ¹⁹the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39 For ²⁰the promise is for you and ²¹for your children and for all ²²who are far off, everyone ²³whom the Lord our God calls to himself. ”

40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, ²⁴“Save yourselves from this ²⁵crooked generation. ”

41 So those who received his word were baptized, and ²⁶there were added that day about three thousand souls.

The Fellowship of the Believers

42 And ²⁷they devoted themselves to the apostles’ ²⁸teaching and the ²⁹fellowship, to ³⁰the breaking of bread and the prayers.
