Trust1 in the LORD forever,2 for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock3 eternal.
He humbles those who dwell on high, he lays the lofty city low; he levels it to the ground4 and casts it down to the dust.56
Feet trample6 it down-- the feet of the oppressed,7 the footsteps of the poor.87
The path of the righteous is level;9 O upright One,10 you make the way of the righteous smooth.118
Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws,a12 we wait13 for you; your name14 and renown are the desire of our hearts.
My soul yearns for you in the night;15 in the morning my spirit longs16 for you. When your judgments17 come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.1810
Though grace is shown to the wicked,19 they do not learn righteousness; even in a land of uprightness they go on doing evil20 and regard21 not the majesty of the LORD.
O LORD, your hand is lifted high,22 but they do not see23 it. Let them see your zeal24 for your people and be put to shame;25 let the fire26 reserved for your enemies consume them.
LORD, you establish peace27 for us; all that we have accomplished you have done28 for us.
O LORD, our God, other lords29 besides you have ruled over us, but your name30 alone do we honor.3114
They are now dead,32 they live no more; those departed spirits33 do not rise. You punished them and brought them to ruin;34 you wiped out all memory of them.35
