Isaiah 25:1-10 NIV

Praise to the LORD

1 O LORD, you are my God;1 I will exalt you and praise your name,2 for in perfect faithfulness3 you have done marvelous things,4 things planned5 long ago.

2 You have made the city a heap of rubble,6 the fortified7 town a ruin,8 the foreigners' stronghold9 a city no more; it will never be rebuilt.10

3 Therefore strong peoples will honor you;11 cities of ruthless12 nations will revere you.

4 You have been a refuge13 for the poor,14 a refuge for the needy15 in his distress, a shelter from the storm16 and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless17 is like a storm driving against a wall

5 and like the heat of the desert. You silence18 the uproar of foreigners;19 as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless20 is stilled.

6 On this mountain21 the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast22 of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine-- the best of meats and the finest of wines.23
