And the apostles gathered themselves togetheruntoJesus,andtoldhim all things,bothwhat they had done, andwhat they had taught.

And he said unto them,Comeyeyourselvesapart*into a desertplace,andrest a while:for there weremanycomingandgoing, and they had noleisure so much as to eat.

And they departedinto a desertplace by shipprivately*.

And the peoplesawthemdeparting, andmanyknewhim,andranafootthither out ofallcities,andoutwentthem,and came togetheruntohim.

AndJesus, when he came out, sawmuchpeople,and was moved with compassiontowardthem,because they wereassheepnothaving a shepherd:and he began to teachthem many things.

And when the daywasnow far spent,hisdisciplescame unto him, and said*, This is a desertplace,andnow the time is far passed:

Sendthemaway, that they may gointo the country round about,and into the villages, and buythemselvesbread:for they havenothingtoeat.
37
He answeredandsaid unto them,Giveyethem to eat.And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundredpennyworth[a] of bread,andgivethem to eat?

Hesaith unto them,How manyloaves have ye? goandsee.And when they knew, they say, Five,andtwofishes.
39
And he commandedthem to makeall sit down by companies*upon the greengrass.
40
And they sat down in ranks*, byhundreds,andbyfifties.
41
And when he had taken the fiveloavesand the twofishes, he looked uptoheaven, and blessed, andbrake the loaves,andgave them to hisdisciplesto set beforethem;and the twofishes divided he among them all.

And they took uptwelvebasketsfull of the fragments,andof the fishes.
44
And they that did eat of the loaveswereabout five thousandmen.

Andstraightway he constrainedhisdisciples to getinto the ship,and to goto the other sidebeforeunto[b]Bethsaida,whilehe sent away the people.
46
And when he had sentthemaway, he departedinto a mountain to pray.
47
And when even was come, the shipwasin the midst of the sea,andhealoneon the land.
48
And he sawthemtoilinginrowing; for the windwascontrary unto them:andabout the fourthwatch of the night he comethuntothem,walkingupon the sea,andwould have passed bythem.

But when they sawhimwalkingupon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit,and cried out:

For they allsawhim,and were troubled. Andimmediately he talkedwiththem,andsaith unto them,Be of good cheer: it isI;benotafraid.
51
And he went upuntotheminto the ship;and the windceased: and they were soreamazedinthemselvesbeyondmeasure,andwondered.
52
For they considerednot the miracle of the loaves:fortheirheartwashardened.

And when they had passed over, they cameinto the land of Gennesaret,and drew to the shore.

And when they were come out of the ship,straightway they knewhim,
55
And ran throughthatwhole region round about, and began to carry aboutinbeds those that weresick,where they heard he was**.

Andwhithersoeverheentered, intovillages,orcities,orcountry, they laid the sickin the streets,andbesoughthimthat they might touchif it were but the border of hisgarment:and as manyastouchedhim[c] were made whole.
