Then He brought me back by the way of the 1outergate of the sanctuary, which faces the east ; and it was shut.

The LORDsaid to me, "Thisgate shall be shut ; it shall not be opened, and noone shall enter by it, for the 2LORDGod of Israel has entered by it; therefore it shall be shut.

"As for the 3prince, he shall sit in it as prince to 4eatbreadbefore the LORD ; he shall 5enter by way of the 6porch of the gate and shall go out aby the same way."

Then He brought me by way of the 7northgate to the front of the house ; and I looked, and behold, the 8glory of the LORDfilled the house of the LORD, and I 9fell on my face.

The LORDsaid to me, "Son of man, b10markwell, see with your eyes and hear with your earsall that I say to you concerning all the 11statutes of the house of the LORD and concerning all its laws ; and cmarkwell the entrance of the house, with allexits of the sanctuary.

"You shall say to the d12rebelliousones, to the house of Israel, 'Thussays the LordeGOD, "13Enough of all your abominations, O house of Israel,

when you brought in 14foreigners , 15uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in My sanctuary to profane it, even My house, when you 16offered My food, the fat and the blood ; for they 17made My covenantvoid -this in addition to all your abominations.

"And you have not 18keptcharge of My holythings yourselves, but you have set foreigners fto keepcharge of My sanctuary."
9'Thussays the LordGOD, "19Noforeigneruncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, of all the foreignerswho are among the sons of Israel, shall enter My sanctuary.

"But the Leviteswhowentfar from Me when Israelwentastray, who20wentastray from Me after their idols, shall 21bear the punishment for their iniquity.

"Yet they shall be 22ministers in My sanctuary, having 23oversight at the gates of the house and 24ministering in the house ; they shall 25slaughter the burntoffering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall 26standbefore them to minister to them.
12"Because they ministered to them 27before their idols and became a 28stumblingblock of iniquity to the house of Israel, therefore I have g29swornagainst them," declares the LordGOD, "that they shall 30bear the punishment for their iniquity.

"And they shall 31not comenear to Me to serve as a priest to Me, norcomenear to any of My holythings, to the things that are mostholy ; but they will 32bear their shame and their abominationswhich they have committed.

"Yet I will happoint them ito 33keepcharge of the house, of all its service and of all that shall be done in it.
Ordinances for the Levites

"But the 34Leviticalpriests, the sons of 35Zadok, who36keptcharge of My sanctuary when the sons of Israel37wentastray from Me, shall comenear to Me to minister to Me; and they shall 38standbefore Me to offer Me the 39fat and the blood," declares the LordGOD.

"They shall 40enter My sanctuary ; they shall comenear to My 41table to minister to Me and keep My charge.

"It shall be that when they enter at the gates of the innercourt, they shall be clothed with 42linengarments ; and wool shall not jbe on them while they are ministering in the gates of the innercourt and in the house.
18"Linen43turbans shall be on their heads and 44linenundergarments shall be on their loins ; they shall not gird themselves with anything which makes them sweat.

"When they go out into the outercourt, into the outercourt to the people, they shall 45putoff their garments in which they have been ministering and lay them in the holychambers ; then they shall put on othergarmentsso that they will 46not transmitholiness to the people with their garments.

"Also they shall 47not shave their heads, yet they shall not 48let their lockskgrowlong ; they shall onlytrim the hair of their heads.

"49Nor shall any of the priestsdrinkwine when they enter the innercourt.

"And they shall not lmarry a widow or a 50divorced woman but shall 51takevirgins from the offspring of the house of Israel, or a widowwho is the widow of a priest.

"Moreover, they shall teach My people the 52difference between the holy and the profane, and cause them to discernbetween the unclean and the clean.
24
"In a dispute53they shall take their stand to judge ; they shall judge it according to My ordinances. They shall also keep My laws and My statutes in all My 54appointedfeasts and 55sanctify My sabbaths.

"m56They shall not go to a deadperson to defile themselves; however , for father, for mother, for son, for daughter, for brother, or for a sisterwho has not had a husband, they may defile themselves.
26"After he is 57cleansed, sevendays shall nelapse for him.

"On the day that he goes into the sanctuary, into the 58innercourt to minister in the sanctuary, he shall offer his 59sinoffering," declares the LordGOD.

"And it shall be with regard to an inheritance for them, that 60I am their inheritance ; and you shall give them nopossession in Israel -I am their possession.
29
"They shall 61eat the grain offering, the sinoffering and the guiltoffering ; and everyo62devotedthing in Israel shall be theirs.
30
"The first of all the 63firstfruits of every kind and everypcontribution of every kind, from all your qcontributions, shall be for the priests ; you shall also give to the priest the 64first of your rdough to cause a 65blessing to rest on your house.

"The priests shall not eatanybird or beast that has 66died a naturaldeath or has been torn to pieces.
