And His disciplesanswered Him, "Where will anyone be able to find enough breadhere in this desolateplace to satisfythesepeople?"

And He was asking them, "Howmanyloaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven."

And He directed the people to sitdown on the ground; and taking the sevenloaves, He gavethanks and broke them, and started giving them to His disciples to serve to them, and they served them to the people.

They alsohad a fewsmallfish; and 1after He had blessed them, He orderedthese to be served as well.

And they ate and were satisfied; and they picked up sevenlarge2basketsfull of what was leftover of the brokenpieces.

Aboutfourthousand were there; and He sent them away.

And immediately He entered the boat with His disciples and came to the district of 3Dalmanutha.

4The Phariseescame out and began to argue with Him, 5seeking from Him a sign from heaven, to test Him.

6Sighingdeeply in His spirit, He said, "Why does thisgenerationseek for a sign? Truly I say to you, 7nosign will be given to thisgeneration."

Leaving them, He againembarked and wentaway to the otherside.

And they had forgotten to takebread, and did not havemorethanoneloaf in the boat with them.
