The Revelation of Jesus Christ

1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which ¹God gave Him to ²show to His bond-servants, ³the things which must soon take place ; and He sent and ^acommunicated it ⁴by His angel to His bond-servant ⁵John, 2 who testified to ⁶the word of God and to ⁷the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3 ⁸Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and ^bheed the things which are written in it; ⁹for the time is near.

Message to the Seven Churches

4 ¹⁰John to ¹¹the seven churches that are in ¹²Asia : ¹³Grace to you and peace, from ¹⁴Him who is and who was and who ^cis to come, and from ¹⁵the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, ¹⁶the faithful witness, the ¹⁷firstborn of the dead, and the ¹⁸ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who ¹⁹loves us and released us from our sins ^dby His blood - 6 and He has made us to be a ²⁰kingdom, ²¹priests to ^e²²His God and Father -²³to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 7 ²⁴BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and ²⁵every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will ²⁶mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. 8 "I am ²⁷the Alpha and the Omega," says the ²⁸Lord God, "²⁹who is and who was and who ^fis to come, the Almighty."

The Patmos Vision

9 ³⁰I, John, your ³¹brother and ³²fellow partaker in the tribulation and ³³kingdom and ^g³⁴perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos ³⁵because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. 10 I was ^h³⁶in the Spirit on ³⁷the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice ³⁸like the sound of a trumpet, 11 saying, "³⁹Write in a ⁱbook what you see, and send it to the ⁴⁰seven churches : to ⁴¹Ephesus and to ⁴²Smyrna and to ⁴³Pergamum and to ⁴⁴Thyatira and to ⁴⁵Sardis and to ⁴⁶Philadelphia and to ⁴⁷Laodicea." 12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw ⁴⁸seven golden lampstands ; 13 and ⁴⁹in the middle of the lampstands I saw one ⁵⁰like ^ja son of man, ⁵¹clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and ⁵²girded across His chest with a golden sash. 14 His head and His ⁵³hair were white like white wool, like snow ; and ⁵⁴His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15 His ⁵⁵feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His ⁵⁶voice was like the sound of many waters. 16 In His right hand He held ⁵⁷seven stars, and out of His mouth came a ⁵⁸sharp two-edged sword ; and His ⁵⁹face was like ⁶⁰the sun ^kshining in its strength. 17 When I saw Him, I ⁶¹fell at His feet like a dead man. And He ⁶²placed His right hand on me, saying, "⁶³Do not be afraid ; ⁶⁴I am the first and the last, 18 and the ⁶⁵living One; and I ^l⁶⁶was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have ⁶⁷the keys of death and of Hades. 19 "Therefore ⁶⁸write ⁶⁹the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place ⁷⁰after these things. 20 "As for the ⁷¹mystery of the ⁷²seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the ⁷³seven golden lampstands : the ⁷⁴seven stars are the angels of ⁷⁵the seven churches, and the seven ⁷⁶lampstands are the seven churches.
