For not knowing about 1God's righteousness and 2seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

For 3Christ is the aend of the law for righteousness to 4everyone who believes.

For Moses writes that the man who practices the righteousness which is bbased on law 5shall live cby that righteousness.

But 6the righteousness dbased on faith speaks as follows : "7DO NOT SAY IN YOUR HEART, 'WHO WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN ?' (that is, to bring Christ down ),

or 'WHO WILL DESCEND INTO THE 8ABYSS?' (that is, to 9bring Christ up from the dead)."

But what does it say ? "10THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, in your mouth and in your heart "-that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,

ethat 11if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and 12believe in your heart that 13God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved ;

for with the heart a person believes, fresulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, gresulting in salvation.

For the Scripture says, "14WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE hDISAPPOINTED."

For 15there is no distinction between Jew and Greek ; for the same Lord is 16Lord of 17all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;
13
for "18WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."
