The Darby Translation (DBY) New International Version (NIV)
And this is the thing which thou shalt do to them to hallow them, that they may serve me as priests: take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish, 1 "This is what you are to do to consecrate them, so they may serve me as priests: Take a young bull and two rams without defect.
and unleavened bread, and unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil -- of wheaten flour shalt thou make them. 2 And from fine wheat flour, without yeast, make bread, and cakes mixed with oil, and wafers spread with oil.
And thou shalt put them into one basket, and present them in the basket, with the bullock and the two rams. 3 Put them in a basket and present them in it--along with the bull and the two rams.
And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring near the entrance of the tent of meeting, and shalt bathe them with water. 4 Then bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and wash them with water.
And thou shalt take the garments, and clothe Aaron with the vest, and the cloak of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and shalt gird him with the girdle of the ephod. 5 Take the garments and dress Aaron with the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod itself and the breastpiece. Fasten the ephod on him by its skillfully woven waistband.
And thou shalt put the turban upon his head, and fasten the holy diadem to the turban, 6 Put the turban on his head and attach the sacred diadem to the turban.
and shalt take the anointing oil, and pour [it] on his head, and anoint him. 7 Take the anointing oil and anoint him by pouring it on his head.
And thou shalt bring his sons near, and clothe them with the vests. 8 Bring his sons and dress them in tunics
And thou shalt gird them with the girdle -- Aaron and his sons, and bind the high caps on them; and the priesthood shall be theirs for an everlasting statute; and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons. 9 and put headbands on them. Then tie sashes on Aaron and his sons. The priesthood is theirs by a lasting ordinance. In this way you shall ordain Aaron and his sons.
And thou shalt present the bullock before the tent of meeting; and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock; 10 "Bring the bull to the front of the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.
and thou shalt slaughter the bullock before Jehovah, at the entrance of the tent of meeting; 11 Slaughter it in the LORD's presence at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
and thou shalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put it on the horns of the altar with thy finger, and shalt pour all the blood at the bottom of the altar. 12 Take some of the bull's blood and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour out the rest of it at the base of the altar.
And thou shalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, and the net of the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar. 13 Then take all the fat around the inner parts, the covering of the liver, and both kidneys with the fat on them, and burn them on the altar.
And the flesh of the bullock, and its skin, and its dung, shalt thou burn with fire outside the camp: it is a sin-offering. 14 But burn the bull's flesh and its hide and its offal outside the camp. It is a sin offering.
And thou shalt take one of the rams, and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram; 15 "Take one of the rams, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.
and thou shalt slaughter the ram, and shalt take its blood, and sprinkle [it] on the altar round about. 16 Slaughter it and take the blood and sprinkle it against the altar on all sides.
And thou shalt cut up the ram into its pieces, and wash its inwards, and its legs, and put [them] upon its pieces, and upon its head; 17 Cut the ram into pieces and wash the inner parts and the legs, putting them with the head and the other pieces.
and thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt-offering to Jehovah -- a sweet odour; it is an offering by fire to Jehovah. 18 Then burn the entire ram on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the LORD, a pleasing aroma, an offering made to the LORD by fire.
And thou shalt take the second ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands upon the head of the ram; 19 "Take the other ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on its head.
and thou shalt slaughter the ram, and take of its blood, and put [it] on the tip of the [right] ear of Aaron, and on the tip of the right ear of his sons, and on the thumb of their right hand, and on the great toe of their right foot; and thou shalt sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about. 20 Slaughter it, take some of its blood and put it on the lobes of the right ears of Aaron and his sons, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. Then sprinkle blood against the altar on all sides.
And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle [it] on Aaron, and on his garments, and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons with him; and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him. 21 And take some of the blood on the altar and some of the anointing oil and sprinkle it on Aaron and his garments and on his sons and their garments. Then he and his sons and their garments will be consecrated.
Also of the ram shalt thou take the fat, and the fat-tail, and the fat that covereth the inwards, and the net of the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder -- for it is a ram of consecration -- 22 "Take from this ram the fat, the fat tail, the fat around the inner parts, the covering of the liver, both kidneys with the fat on them, and the right thigh. (This is the ram for the ordination.)
and one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened [bread] that is before Jehovah; 23 From the basket of bread made without yeast, which is before the LORD, take a loaf, and a cake made with oil, and a wafer.
and thou shalt put all this in the hands of Aaron, and in the hands of his sons, and shalt wave them as a wave-offering before Jehovah. 24 Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and wave them before the LORD as a wave offering.
And thou shalt receive them of their hand and burn [them] upon the altar over the burnt-offering, for a sweet odour before Jehovah: it is an offering by fire to Jehovah. 25 Then take them from their hands and burn them on the altar along with the burnt offering for a pleasing aroma to the LORD, an offering made to the LORD by fire.
And thou shalt take the breast of the ram of consecration which is for Aaron, and wave it as a wave-offering before Jehovah; and it shall be thy part. 26 After you take the breast of the ram for Aaron's ordination, wave it before the LORD as a wave offering, and it will be your share.
And thou shalt hallow the breast of the wave-offering, and the shoulder of the heave-offering, that hath been waved and heaved up, of the ram of the consecration, of that which is for Aaron, and of [that] which is for his sons. 27 "Consecrate those parts of the ordination ram that belong to Aaron and his sons: the breast that was waved and the thigh that was presented.
And they shall be for Aaron and his sons, as an everlasting statute, on the part of the children of Israel; for it is a heave-offering; and it shall be a heave-offering on the part of the children of Israel of the sacrifices of their peace-offerings, [as] their heave-offering to Jehovah. 28 This is always to be the regular share from the Israelites for Aaron and his sons. It is the contribution the Israelites are to make to the LORD from their fellowship offerings.
And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons' after him, to be anointed therein, and to be consecrated in them. 29 "Aaron's sacred garments will belong to his descendants so that they can be anointed and ordained in them.
The son that is priest in his stead shall put them on seven days, when he cometh into the tent of meeting to serve in the sanctuary. 30 The son who succeeds him as priest and comes to the Tent of Meeting to minister in the Holy Place is to wear them seven days.
And thou shalt take the ram of the consecration, and boil its flesh in a holy place. 31 "Take the ram for the ordination and cook the meat in a sacred place.
And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 32 At the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, Aaron and his sons are to eat the meat of the ram and the bread that is in the basket.
They shall eat the things with which the atonement was made, to consecrate [and] to hallow them; but a stranger shall not eat [of them], for they are holy. 33 They are to eat these offerings by which atonement was made for their ordination and consecration. But no one else may eat them, because they are sacred.
And if [any] of the flesh of the consecration, and of the bread, remain until the morning, then thou shalt burn the remainder with fire: it shall not be eaten, for it is holy. 34 And if any of the meat of the ordination ram or any bread is left over till morning, burn it up. It must not be eaten, because it is sacred.
And thus shalt thou do to Aaron, and to his sons, according to all that I have commanded thee: seven days shalt thou consecrate them. 35 "Do for Aaron and his sons everything I have commanded you, taking seven days to ordain them.
And thou shalt offer every day a bullock as a sin-offering for atonement; and the altar shalt thou cleanse from sin, by making atonement for it, and shalt anoint it, to hallow it. 36 Sacrifice a bull each day as a sin offering to make atonement. Purify the altar by making atonement for it, and anoint it to consecrate it.
Seven days shalt thou make atonement for the altar and hallow it; and the altar shall be most holy: whatever toucheth the altar shall be holy. 37 For seven days make atonement for the altar and consecrate it. Then the altar will be most holy, and whatever touches it will be holy.
And this is what thou shalt offer upon the altar -- two lambs of the first year, day by day continually. 38 "This is what you are to offer on the altar regularly each day: two lambs a year old.
The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer between the two evenings. 39 Offer one in the morning and the other at twilight.
And with the one lamb a tenth part of wheaten flour mingled with beaten oil, a fourth part of a hin; and a drink-offering, a fourth part of a hin of wine. 40 With the first lamb offer a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of oil from pressed olives, and a quarter of a hin of wine as a drink offering.
And the second lamb shalt thou offer between the two evenings; as the oblation in the morning, and as its drink-offering shalt thou offer with this, for a sweet odour, an offering by fire to Jehovah. 41 Sacrifice the other lamb at twilight with the same grain offering and its drink offering as in the morning--a pleasing aroma, an offering made to the LORD by fire.
It shall be a continual burnt-offering throughout your generations at the entrance of the tent of meeting before Jehovah, where I will meet with you, to speak there with thee. 42 "For the generations to come this burnt offering is to be made regularly at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting before the LORD. There I will meet you and speak to you;
And there will I meet with the children of Israel; and it shall be hallowed by my glory. 43 there also I will meet with the Israelites, and the place will be consecrated by my glory.
And I will hallow the tent of meeting, and the altar; and I will hallow Aaron and his sons, that they may serve me as priests. 44 "So I will consecrate the Tent of Meeting and the altar and will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests.
And I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel, and will be their God. 45 Then I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God.
And they shall know that I am Jehovah their God, who have brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, to dwell in their midst: I am Jehovah their God. 46 They will know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am the LORD their God.
