New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
The LORD also said to Moses, 1 Then the LORD said to Moses,
"Look, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. 2 "See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,
I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, intelligence, and skill in all kinds of crafts. 3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts--
He is able to create beautiful objects from gold, silver, and bronze. 4 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,
He is skilled in cutting and setting gemstones and in carving wood. Yes, he is a master at every craft!" 5 to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship.
"And I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to be his assistant. Moreover, I have given special skill to all the naturally talented craftsmen so they can make all the things I have instructed you to make: 6 Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given skill to all the craftsmen to make everything I have commanded you:
the Tabernacle itself; the Ark of the Covenant; the Ark's cover -- the place of atonement; all the furnishings of the Tabernacle; 7 the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the Testimony with the atonement cover on it, and all the other furnishings of the tent--
the table and all its utensils; the gold lampstand with all its accessories; the incense altar; 8 the table and its articles, the pure gold lampstand and all its accessories, the altar of incense,
the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils; the washbasin and its pedestal; 9 the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, the basin with its stand--
the beautifully stitched, holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments for his sons to wear as they minister as priests; 10 and also the woven garments, both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests,
the anointing oil; and the special incense for the Holy Place. They must follow exactly all the instructions I have given you." 11 and the anointing oil and fragrant incense for the Holy Place. They are to make them just as I commanded you."
The LORD then gave these further instructions to Moses: 12 Then the LORD said to Moses,
"Tell the people of Israel to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you forever. It helps you to remember that I am the LORD, who makes you holy. 13 "Say to the Israelites, 'You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the LORD, who makes you holy.
Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy. Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community. 14 " 'Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it must be put to death; whoever does any work on that day must be cut off from his people.
Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest. I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death. 15 For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death.
The people of Israel must keep the Sabbath day forever. 16 The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant.
It is a permanent sign of my covenant with them. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, but he rested on the seventh day and was refreshed." 17 It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested.' "
Then as the LORD finished speaking with Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, written by the finger of God. 18 When the LORD finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the Testimony, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God.
