1 Und der HERR antwortete Hiob aus dem Wetter und sprach:
|
1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the storm. He said:
|
|
2 Wer ist der, der den Ratschluß verdunkelt mit Worten ohne Verstand?
|
2 "Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge?
|
|
3 Gürte deine Lenden wie ein Mann; ich will dich fragen, lehre mich!
|
3 Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.
|
|
4 Wo warst du, da ich die Erde gründete? Sage an, bist du so klug!
|
4 "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand.
|
|
5 Weißt du, wer ihr das Maß gesetzt hat oder wer über sie eine Richtschnur gezogen hat?
|
5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it?
|
|
6 Worauf stehen ihre Füße versenkt, oder wer hat ihren Eckstein gelegt,
|
6 On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone--
|
|
7 da mich die Morgensterne miteinander lobten und jauchzten alle Kinder Gottes?
|
7 while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?
|
|
8 Wer hat das Meer mit Türen verschlossen, da es herausbrach wie aus Mutterleib, {~}
|
8 "Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb,
|
|
9 da ich's mit Wolken kleidete und in Dunkel einwickelte wie in Windeln,
|
9 when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness,
|
|
10 da ich ihm den Lauf brach mit meinem Damm und setzte ihm Riegel und Türen
|
10 when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place,
|
|
11 und sprach: "Bis hierher sollst du kommen und nicht weiter; hier sollen sich legen deine stolzen Wellen!"?
|
11 when I said, 'This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt'?
|
|
12 Hast du bei deiner Zeit dem Morgen geboten und der Morgenröte ihren Ort gezeigt,
|
12 "Have you ever given orders to the morning, or shown the dawn its place,
|
|
13 daß sie die Ecken der Erde fasse und die Gottlosen herausgeschüttelt werden?
|
13 that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it?
|
|
14 Sie wandelt sich wie Ton unter dem Siegel, und alles steht da wie im Kleide.
|
14 The earth takes shape like clay under a seal; its features stand out like those of a garment.
|
|
15 Und den Gottlosen wird ihr Licht genommen, und der Arm der Hoffärtigen wird zerbrochen.
|
15 The wicked are denied their light, and their upraised arm is broken.
|
|
16 Bist du in den Grund des Meeres gekommen und in den Fußtapfen der Tiefe gewandelt?
|
16 "Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea or walked in the recesses of the deep?
|
|
17 Haben sich dir des Todes Tore je aufgetan, oder hast du gesehen die Tore der Finsternis?
|
17 Have the gates of death been shown to you? Have you seen the gates of the shadow of death ?
|
|
18 Hast du vernommen wie breit die Erde sei? Sage an, weißt du solches alles!
|
18 Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth? Tell me, if you know all this.
|
|
19 Welches ist der Weg, da das Licht wohnt, und welches ist der Finsternis Stätte,
|
19 "What is the way to the abode of light? And where does darkness reside?
|
|
20 daß du mögest ergründen seine Grenze und merken den Pfad zu seinem Hause?
|
20 Can you take them to their places? Do you know the paths to their dwellings?
|
|
21 Du weißt es ja; denn zu der Zeit wurdest du geboren, und deiner Tage sind viel.
|
21 Surely you know, for you were already born! You have lived so many years!
|
|
22 Bist du gewesen, da der Schnee her kommt, oder hast du gesehen, wo der Hagel her kommt,
|
22 "Have you entered the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses of the hail,
|
|
23 die ich habe aufbehalten bis auf die Zeit der Trübsal und auf den Tag des Streites und Krieges?
|
23 which I reserve for times of trouble, for days of war and battle?
|
|
24 Durch welchen Weg teilt sich das Licht und fährt der Ostwind hin über die Erde?
|
24 What is the way to the place where the lightning is dispersed, or the place where the east winds are scattered over the earth?
|
|
25 Wer hat dem Platzregen seinen Lauf ausgeteilt und den Weg dem Blitz und dem Donner
|
25 Who cuts a channel for the torrents of rain, and a path for the thunderstorm,
|
|
26 und läßt regnen aufs Land da niemand ist, in der Wüste, da kein Mensch ist,
|
26 to water a land where no man lives, a desert with no one in it,
|
|
27 daß er füllt die Einöde und Wildnis und macht das Gras wächst?
|
27 to satisfy a desolate wasteland and make it sprout with grass?
|
|
28 Wer ist des Regens Vater? Wer hat die Tropfen des Taues gezeugt?
|
28 Does the rain have a father? Who fathers the drops of dew?
|
|
29 Aus wes Leib ist das Eis gegangen, und wer hat den Reif unter dem Himmel gezeugt,
|
29 From whose womb comes the ice? Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens
|
|
30 daß das Wasser verborgen wird wie unter Steinen und die Tiefe oben gefriert?
|
30 when the waters become hard as stone, when the surface of the deep is frozen?
|
|
31 Kannst du die Bande der sieben Sterne zusammenbinden oder das Band des Orion auflösen?
|
31 "Can you bind the beautiful Pleiades? Can you loose the cords of Orion?
|
|
32 Kannst du den Morgenstern hervorbringen zu seiner Zeit oder den Bären am Himmel samt seinen Jungen heraufführen?
|
32 Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons or lead out the Bear with its cubs?
|
|
33 Weißt du des Himmels Ordnungen, oder bestimmst du seine Herrschaft über die Erde?
|
33 Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you set up [God's] dominion over the earth?
|
|
34 Kannst du deine Stimme zu der Wolke erheben, daß dich die Menge des Wassers bedecke?
|
34 "Can you raise your voice to the clouds and cover yourself with a flood of water?
|
|
35 Kannst du die Blitze auslassen, daß sie hinfahren und sprechen zu dir: Hier sind wir?
|
35 Do you send the lightning bolts on their way? Do they report to you, 'Here we are'?
|
|
36 Wer gibt die Weisheit in das Verborgene? Wer gibt verständige Gedanken?
|
36 Who endowed the heart with wisdom or gave understanding to the mind ?
|
|
37 Wer ist so weise, der die Wolken zählen könnte? Wer kann die Wasserschläuche am Himmel ausschütten,
|
37 Who has the wisdom to count the clouds? Who can tip over the water jars of the heavens
|
|
38 wenn der Staub begossen wird, daß er zuhauf läuft und die Schollen aneinander kleben?
|
38 when the dust becomes hard and the clods of earth stick together?
|
|
39 Kannst du der Löwin ihren Raub zu jagen geben und die jungen Löwen sättigen, {~}
|
39 "Do you hunt the prey for the lioness and satisfy the hunger of the lions
|
|
40 wenn sie sich legen in ihre Stätten und ruhen in der Höhle, da sie lauern?
|
40 when they crouch in their dens or lie in wait in a thicket?
|
|
41 Wer bereitet den Raben die Speise, wenn seine Jungen zu Gott rufen und fliegen irre, weil sie nicht zu essen haben?
|
41 Who provides food for the raven when its young cry out to God and wander about for lack of food?
