1 Y respondió Zofar naamatita, y dijo:
|
1 Then Zophar the Naamathite replied:
|
|
2 Por cierto mis pensamientos me hacen responder, y por tanto me apresuro.
|
2 "My troubled thoughts prompt me to answer because I am greatly disturbed.
|
|
3 La reprensión de mi censura he oído, y me hace responder el espíritu de mi inteligencia.
|
3 I hear a rebuke that dishonors me, and my understanding inspires me to reply.
|
|
4 ¿No sabes esto que fue siempre, desde el tiempo que fue puesto el hombre sobre la tierra,
|
4 "Surely you know how it has been from of old, ever since man was placed on the earth,
|
|
5 que la alegría de los impíos es breve, y el gozo del hipócrita por un momento?
|
5 that the mirth of the wicked is brief, the joy of the godless lasts but a moment.
|
|
6 Si subiere su altura hasta el cielo, y su cabeza tocare en las nubes,
|
6 Though his pride reaches to the heavens and his head touches the clouds,
|
|
7 con su mismo estiércol perecerá para siempre; los que le hubieren visto, dirán: ¿Qué es de él?
|
7 he will perish forever, like his own dung; those who have seen him will say, 'Where is he?'
|
|
8 Como sueño volará, y no será hallado; y se disipará como visión nocturna.
|
8 Like a dream he flies away, no more to be found, banished like a vision of the night.
|
|
9 El ojo que le habrá visto, nunca más le vera; ni su lugar le echará más de ver.
|
9 The eye that saw him will not see him again; his place will look on him no more.
|
|
10 Sus hijos pobres andarán rogando; y sus manos devolverán lo que él robó.
|
10 His children must make amends to the poor; his own hands must give back his wealth.
|
|
11 Sus huesos están llenos de los pecados de su juventud, y con él serán sepultados en el polvo.
|
11 The youthful vigor that fills his bones will lie with him in the dust.
|
|
12 Si el mal se endulzó en su boca, si lo ocultaba debajo de su lengua;
|
12 "Though evil is sweet in his mouth and he hides it under his tongue,
|
|
13 si le parecía bien, y no lo dejaba, sino que lo detenía entre su paladar;
|
13 though he cannot bear to let it go and keeps it in his mouth,
|
|
14 su comida se mudará en sus entrañas, hiel de áspides será dentro de él.
|
14 yet his food will turn sour in his stomach; it will become the venom of serpents within him.
|
|
15 Comió haciendas, mas las vomitará; de su vientre las sacará Dios.
|
15 He will spit out the riches he swallowed; God will make his stomach vomit them up.
|
|
16 Veneno de áspides chupará; lo matará lengua de víbora.
|
16 He will suck the poison of serpents; the fangs of an adder will kill him.
|
|
17 No verá los arroyos, las riberas de los ríos de miel y de manteca.
|
17 He will not enjoy the streams, the rivers flowing with honey and cream.
|
|
18 Restituirá el trabajo ajeno conforme a la hacienda que tomó; y no tragará, ni gozará.
|
18 What he toiled for he must give back uneaten; he will not enjoy the profit from his trading.
|
|
19 Por cuanto quebrantó y desamparó a los pobres, robó casas, y no las edificó;
|
19 For he has oppressed the poor and left them destitute; he has seized houses he did not build.
|
|
20 por tanto, no sentirá él sosiego en su vientre, ni escapará con su codicia.
|
20 "Surely he will have no respite from his craving; he cannot save himself by his treasure.
|
|
21 No quedó nada que no comiese; por tanto su bien no será durable.
|
21 Nothing is left for him to devour; his prosperity will not endure.
|
|
22 Cuando fuere lleno su bastimento, tendrá angustia; las manos todas de los malvados vendrán sobre él.
|
22 In the midst of his plenty, distress will overtake him; the full force of misery will come upon him.
|
|
23 Cuando se pusiere a llenar su vientre, Dios enviará sobre él el furor de su ira, y la hará llover sobre él y sobre su comida.
|
23 When he has filled his belly, God will vent his burning anger against him and rain down his blows upon him.
|
|
24 Huirá de las armas de hierro, y el arco de acero le atravesará.
|
24 Though he flees from an iron weapon, a bronze-tipped arrow pierces him.
|
|
25 Desenvainará y sacará saeta de su aljaba, y relumbrante pasará por su hiel; sobre él vendrán terrores.
|
25 He pulls it out of his back, the gleaming point out of his liver. Terrors will come over him;
|
|
26 Todas tinieblas están guardadas para sus secretos; fuego no soplado lo devorará; su sucesor será quebrantado en su tienda.
|
26 total darkness lies in wait for his treasures. A fire unfanned will consume him and devour what is left in his tent.
|
|
27 Los cielos descubrirán su iniquidad, y la tierra se levantará contra él.
|
27 The heavens will expose his guilt; the earth will rise up against him.
|
|
28 Los renuevos de su casa serán trasportados; serán derramados en el día de su furor.
|
28 A flood will carry off his house, rushing waters on the day of God's wrath.
|
|
29 Esta es la parte que Dios apareja al hombre impío, y la heredad que Dios le señala por su palabra.
|
29 Such is the fate God allots the wicked, the heritage appointed for them by God."
