but he saw also a certain poor widow casting therein two mites. 2 He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins.
And he said, Verily I say unto you, that this poor widow has cast in more than all; 3 "I tell you the truth," he said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others.
for all these out of their abundance have cast into the gifts [of God]; but she out of her need has cast in all the living which she had. 4 All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on."
And as some spoke of the temple, that it was adorned with goodly stones and consecrated offerings, he said, 5 Some of his disciples were remarking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said,
[As to] these things which ye are beholding, days are coming in which there shall not be left stone upon stone which shall not be thrown down. 6 "As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down."
And they asked him saying, Teacher, when then shall these things be; and what [is] the sign when these things are going to take place? 7 "Teacher," they asked, "when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?"
And he said, See that ye be not led astray, for many shall come in my name, saying, *I* am [he], and the time is drawn nigh: go ye not [therefore] after them. 8 He replied: "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and, 'The time is near.' Do not follow them.
And when ye shall hear of wars and tumults, be not terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end is not immediately. 9 When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away."
Then he said to them, Nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; 10 Then he said to them: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
there shall be both great earthquakes in different places, and famines and pestilences; and there shall be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. 11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
But before all these things they shall lay their hands upon you and persecute you, delivering [you] up to synagogues and prisons, bringing [you] before kings and governors on account of my name; 12 "But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name.
but it shall turn out to you for a testimony. 13 This will result in your being witnesses to them.
Settle therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand [your] defence, 14 But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.
for *I* will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your opposers shall not be able to reply to or resist. 15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.
But ye will be delivered up even by parents and brethren and relations and friends, and they shall put to death [some] from among you, 16 You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death.
and ye will be hated of all for my name's sake. 17 All men will hate you because of me.
And a hair of your head shall in no wise perish. 18 But not a hair of your head will perish.
By your patient endurance gain your souls. 19 By standing firm you will gain life.
But when ye see Jerusalem encompassed with armies, then know that its desolation is drawn nigh. 20 "When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near.
Then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of it depart out, and those who are in the country not enter into it; 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city.
for these are days of avenging, that all the things that are written may be accomplished. 22 For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written.
But woe to them that are with child and to them who give suck in those days, for there shall be great distress upon the land and wrath upon this people. 23 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people.
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of [the] nations until [the] times of [the] nations be fulfilled. 24 They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
And there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth distress of nations in perplexity [at] the roar of the sea and rolling waves, 25 "There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.
men ready to die through fear and expectation of what is coming on the habitable earth, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. 26 Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.

And he spoke a parable to them: Behold the fig-tree and all the trees; 29 He told them this parable: "Look at the fig tree and all the trees.
when they already sprout, ye know of your own selves, [on] looking [at them], that already the summer is near. 30 When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near.
So also *ye*, when ye see these things take place, know that the kingdom of God is near. 31 Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near.
Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall in no wise pass away until all come to pass. 32 "I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall in no wise pass away. 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
But take heed to yourselves lest possibly your hearts be laden with surfeiting and drinking and cares of life, and that day come upon you suddenly unawares; 34 "Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap.
for as a snare shall it come upon all them that dwell upon the face of the whole earth. 35 For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth.
Watch therefore, praying at every season, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things which are about to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. 36 Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man."
And by day he was teaching in the temple, and by night, going out, he remained abroad on the mountain called [the mount] of Olives; 37 Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives,
